I am trying to set-up Outlook on my Mac for one specific email account (for a home-based job), and I continue to get "an operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic. Could not retrieve mail. Account name: "Att" Error -3259"

I do not have this new email synced with my MacMail at all. I am able to log into this new account when I am on-line, but Outlook will not respond to it. I downloaded all new updates this morning.

Thoughts?

I was wondering if there is a way to export the Outlook 2011 emails in HTML format.I know you can do it in PDF but I wanted to do it in HTML.

I have looked around but was unable to find any answer. I now it is possible in 2010 and 2013. But is it possible in 2011? If so, how would you go about doing it. I don't mind getting external plugin for this either.

We have around 200 Mac Office users where the nickname / autocomplete is not working correctly. We have tried the usual steps of rebuilding the identity and the index on a percentage of these to no avail.

The inclusion of the names into the nickname / autocorrect is sporadic. Some do show and others do not without any pattern being detected. We are on 14.5.1 with Yosemite.

Webmail and Outlook 2013 work as expected. Its becoming increasingly frustrating for our users and I know from our own research it is still an issue for many.

Thanks.

I am running Outlook 2011 on a MacBook Air using Office 365 as my exchange server.  Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3.

When I launch Outlook for the first time after a restart my reminders DO pop-up and are accurate.

After I minimize the reminder window into the dock it won't maximize again.

The window will sometimes pop-up and then minimize immediately when selected, but most times it doesn't respond to a maximize request

I've verified I don't have multiple Mac desktops running, and when I specifically choose "show on this desktop" it won't maximize

Additionally, once it opens the first time, no new reminders update from the calendar.

It's as if you get one chance to look at it, then that's it.

Does anyone else have this problem with reminders?

I am a person who uses reminders frequently and really need this functionality working.  Does anyone know if there is a setting I am missing or a patch I need to apply.

Have a strange issue, hoping for help on suggestions how to troubleshoot.

I have a 3rd party tool that one-way replicates calendar items from a private calendar to a public folder calendar. Works great. However, I found 1 appointment on the public folder calendar that shows up on Mac Outlook 2011, but not in Office 2010/2013 or via OWA.

I am logging in with the same credentials from the Mac as I am from the PC and OWA (IE11). All appointments show on both systems, except for this one. It only shows on the Mac.

I have deleted and recreated the sync items, and the same scenario happens. I have trashed the Mac's cache, rebuilding the calendar from scratch, and that appointment shows. Same procedure on the PC (recreate Outlook profile), and the appointment is missing.

It MUST be on the server, because the Mac is downloading it. I just can't see it unless I am on a Mac. I can't see it on a PC as an admin, as a user with delegated access, or as the user who it originally belonged to.

Any ideas how else I can troubleshoot? Why does this only show on the Mac?

I need to deploy Outlook 2011 to some end users that are configured with Windows 7 &  Outlook 2010 having an Exchange server 2010 email account and another POP email account that is configured to bring emails from the POP server and load into the exchange server 2010.

I have setup the user Exchange email account on the Mac Outlook 2011 OK. Now when adding the POP email account I cannot determine or find a way to ensure the all POP emails are loaded into the exchange just like it is working on Windows 7 running Outlook 2010.

On Windows 7 with Outlook 2010, all I need to do as soon as I configure the POP account is to ensure that both the exchange email and the pop email are pointing to the same *.ost data file.

How can I achieve this on Outlook 2011?

After doing the last update and needing to delete all of MS Office and reinstall from Time Machine after Outlook wouldn't work, I was a little hesitant to perform this latest "critical" update. But when I looked at the details, it said it was a fix to the last update, so I did it. Works much better but now I can't create new calendar appointments so I'm going to have to delete and reinstall again, unless someone quickly comes up with a solution. I can use my phone to create appointments but it is far slower and less convenient. I'm just about ready to give up on MS after 2 big errors in a row like this, and use the built-in Apple software. Sheesh--can anyone help?
I cannot disble Lync call me at feature on MAC client, Lync continues dialing my desk phone when I join an online meeting

I have read many threads some dating back 3-4 years on this issue but i find no resolution.

I use Mac Outlook 2011, IOS devices, etc, during winter time no issue, but when Israel Summer Time comes, my calendar is a mess.

Any meeting I set is generally OK but still problematic but if i am invited to a recurring meeting (majority for me) then the start and end times keep changing for almost all such events. For example a meeting is set with start time 1200 IST repeating weekly. If one instance is changed the meeting can balloon adding hours on the start and end so it ends up being 1100 to 1400 or even longer. Always it seems to add one hour earlier to the start but the end can be anything, i have seen more than a day added.

I have tried setting nearby timezones (Athens for example) no change, I tried resetting all calendars (simultaneously delete IOS and OSX) and after restoring same issue. Seems to happen with specific users, no logic. I am in a company of 1000+ employees all using Windows + IOS no issue, only I am on Mac + IOS.

Windows+IOS=OK

Mac+IOS=NOK

In all cases we have latest Exchange Server fully updated.

If i change the event in my calendar (it warns me that sender changes wont be reflected) I can override the bug but after some time (minutes to hours) it changes back again.

I cannot imagine the issue effects so many people, has been around for so many years, and no apparent solution.

Any ideas welcome.

Help!!

My mailarchive is gone and resetting it from time machine backup does not work...

I have been struggling for almost a month now to get my mail history back...

This is what happened:

On mai 12th, Microsoft updater suggested i should install version the new version of office 2011 for mac (turned out to be version 14.5.0).

As i did accept the update (which I most highly regret now...), after installing 14.5.0, all my local mail (personal mail archive maps), my contacts and mailaccounts were gone.

The microsoft identities folder is not empty, but is about 188kb size in stead of more then 2GB in on my most recent time machine backup

It seemed to me as Office has been reset to the situation when first installed office/outlook.

I have a i-mac installed with OSX yosemite 10.10.2.

Since the update i followed the problems of the update on several community's.

  • There was the problem that outlook showed a now window at opening. that did not happen to me.
  • I installed the update 14.5.1, it reacted exactly the same as 14.5.0, and the problem was that still my email was gone,
  • So I reset the Documents/Microsoft User Data map from my time machine. no result...stil no mail archive nor contacts or mail-accounts...
  • I did the same with version outlook mac 2011, 14.5.0
  • the same with the version the Documents/Microsoft User Data - maildata corresponded to outlook 2011 mac version 14.4.7
  • still did not work...

Nothing seems to work...

As a result I do not see any other way to recover my outlook data from my time machine...

Please can you give me any other suggestions?
