How do you default to Hotmail/Outlook in Windows 7 IE 9? I have no Windows Live/ Microsoft Office/Skydrive files installed.

Outlook has increasingly been attacking my ability to simply sign into my hotmail account on my WORK COMPUTER. I cannot buy a new computer which has the ability to download more modern set ups, and Outlook has easily facilitated my using it's inferior
system all of this time!!!!!!!!! Now the ________s won't even let my sign in, log into MY OWN WORK COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm confused about using an alias. I have two accounts, X and Y. If I create an alias Z, I guess I can set it up so that I get emails from X and Y in the Z account. But in X and Y I have folders that my emails are sorted in, like School, Work, Other.
Will those separate folders remain for X and Y within Z? Like with I have X-School, Y - School, X - Work, Y - Work etc folders still?
I am a new user of Windows Live Mail (Windows 7) & I can't figure out how to send an e-mail to more than one recipient from my Contact List. This was easily done in Outlook Express & I have to believe there is a way to do it in Windows Live Mail. Any help

I have windows live mail essentials 2011 running on windows7. Just now it has lost all my messages - inbox, sent etc on all accounts. Can I retrieve these?
If I update a contact on outlook.com, it doesn't sync (waited now 20 minutes) onto my Nokia 920 WP8. If I click manually on SYNC on the Phone, then it syncs.
How can I enable automatic syncing (PUSH) from OUTLOOK.COM to my WP8? Or is this PULL technology, in which case, what is the delay between PULL's and is this configurable?
