When my account was switched over to outlook, I lost all my hotmail emails.  Had some really important stuff in there too.  Anyone know if I can get em back?

I use Win 8.1, and it automatically created a folder on Skydrive since I selected to automatically sync my photos. Now the problem is that although all my systems are in English, all the region settings is US, all the devices are bought in US, and live in English country (so the IP is in English region as well), etc., the automatically created folder on Skydrive is in Chinese. It should be "Pictures\Camera Roll" but instead, it's "图片\本机照片".

It was at least 5 years ago that I used Skydrive on a Chinese system. After that, I never use Skydrive on any Chinese systems. I can manually rename the folder, but I'm really curious that how I can change this hidden setting of Skydrive default language. My Microsoft account's region is US, all the local folder, including "Pictures\Camera Roll" is in English, so the only possible reason is that there is a hidden language setting that isn't related to your system language, region setting, Microsoft account setting and IP address. Where is it? How to change it?

A couple of hours ago I did a routine maintenance of my password in https://account.live.com. The password was accepted OK and I can login with it into my windows 8.1 and www.outlook.com

However, when I open my desktop outlook 2013, a window pops up requesting my new password... which it does not accept! so I am locked out of Outlook 2013!!! By the way I have the same problem with my iPhone / ipad Outlook accounts - the new password is not accepted!!!

Please help as it is urgent!

Each time I open my Hotmail/outlook account, I am unable to read my emails until I have signed in.

Even though I tick the box "Remember me".

What can I do to be logged in automatically?

Hi,

I'm an Outlook Insider and I'm trying to configure a client to move from @pacbell.net email to outlook.

An essential part of this is getting the email to import via POP3 (not forward, do not suggest it).

However the email will not import. Always I am told that " We couldn't sign in to your POP3 server. Please make sure your username and password are correct. "

However I am using 100% exactly the same settings on Thunderbird and it is connected just fine!

How can I force Outlook to connect with this account?

I'm using these settings:
pacbell.netinbound.att.net / 995outbound.att.net / 465
*** Email address is removed for privacy ***POP3

I've just added a new alias email address but kept my original email address as the primary address. Outlook then refreshed by account clearing thousands of emails out, losing all my contacts. It's literally a brand new blank account and my old one seems to be totally gone. There was no warning whatsoever that this might happen, I thought I was just adding an extra address to send/receive from. I've deleted the alias account but it made no difference. PLEASE help me I'm in big trouble if i've just lost all my contacts and emails!!!
Hello. I wondered if anyone else has had, and resolved this issue!
I have invited a new member to my skydrive group.
I usually tell new members to set up a microsoft log in, then log in at skydrive.live.com, click on "Groups" on the left and then click "View Group Invitations" at the top. My invitee has set up an account successfully; however he does not have the Groups item on his left hand menu. I have never come across this before.
I tried asking him to click on the link in the email invitation instead. (As this process can be a bit flakey, I normally ask invitees to follow the procedure above instead).
However when he clicks on the link, it says "processing error, try again later."
Any idea why he might not have Groups in his menu?

Hi there

Last week my skydrive emptied by its own accord with the exception of a handful of files. I nearly had a heart attack but found my files in the skydrive bin..but now its seems I didnt get back all my files which I am only discovering when I go to look for them..

How can I prevent this happening again and also find my missing files..

I am currently restoring my files for the second time hoping that will find them

tks

Hi

I have a problem with Outlook. Whenever I write and send an email to someone, I notice that the font changes in the body of the message.

For example, the first few lines of the message render correctly, but the rest of the message renders with a different grey font. I suspect that the signature is causing the problem.

The problem does not occur while composing the message, but only after sending it and reading it in the Sent folder.

The receipient receives a message where the first few lines are in black, and the rest of the message is grey.

I have tried this with the latest versions of both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. The problem occurs in both browsers.

I suspect that the signature is causing the problem, because I noticed that it often occurs whenever I move the cursor over my text signature.

Any suggestions?
