I am so sick of Windows Live Messenger popping up every time I start my computer. (Win 7) This started happening when I upgraded the Windows Live mail. Didn't have this problem before the upgrade. Make It STOP please. There is no (?) like in the instructions listed here, no tools to turn off. I have finally just went to the msconfig and the service for messenger is not there. I had the problem with SKYPE doing the same thing but was able to make that stop. So my only recourse is to disable windows live sign-in which I'm not sure I really want to do. Can this new version have the ability to turn it off?

Hello,

My status update which I once had in my MSN messenger is visible when I am on skype with my microsoft account.

Can anyone please help me to remove it? It is quite embarrassing...

Hi,

I don't know if that is the correct category in community, but I couldn't find something more related to Microsoft Account and profiles that appearing to my account. I can see some strange countries profiles that I can see on commerce.microsoft.com page, profiles are either business or personal, but never the less I don't know that I open any of them and I could not find any possibility to delete them. As I'm using my Microsoft Account for many things related to Microsoft, I just want to clean up some profiles and when I asked support (through the commerce.microsoft.com) page, they said that they don't know how profiles are created as well as that there is no possibility to delete them. That sounds kind a silly. I tried to fined some resources about the issue, but I couldn't find any useful information. So can someone explain me how those profile are created and how to clean them up.

Regards,

Ales

I recently reinstalled MSE because my system became infected even though MSE ran every day.

After reinstallation I thought I would try a quick scan, so after updating I hit quick scan button.

The scan took over one hour and scanned 277,000 items, I thought this was strange but as it was the first scan after reinstallation I ran quick scan again the following day. This scan took more than one hour and scanned 230,000 items, normally quick scan use to take about ten minutes and scanned 39,000 items.

Why is MSE taking so long and why is it scanning so many items, also why did it not pick up on my system being infected.

If I put google as my default system it does this only once and then reverts back to Ask . I have tried unloading and reloading google with no effect
I'm getting an error message that prompts to set my TCP PORT SETTINGS.  I did so through Firewall Advanced settings but I am still getting a message error about TCP PORT SETTINGS. What do I do to play backgammon?

UNABLE TO FIND ''WINDOWS ESSENTIALS' ; IN WINDOWS 8- HELP

TRYING TO DRAG AND MOVE ARROWS RE TO CROP PICTURES ETC.

I still have had no reply/solution provided over a year since posting on a thread (now locked with no solution) regarding contacts being unable to see me online. The problem seems common. When I merged I was 'appearing offline' on my status in messenger. Have been permanently invisible to all my messenger contacts ever since when logged on via Skype using messenger credentials. Skype contacts can see me just fine. I should point out I CAN SEE ALL MY CONTACTS BOTH MSN AND SKYPE just fine (for some reason the original thread was going on about them not being visible, but they are quite visible to me, it is just me that is not visible to them).

Is there actually a solution to this problem? I went through all the steps asked over a year ago and had several private message conversations giving countless amounts of info and was eventually told it was being sent elsewhere for urgent consideration. Urgent. Am still waiting over a year later for someone to actually tell me what the solution for this is or where it's at! Seems the other thread was locked at some point without any solutions that worked being offered and I admit I just gave up trying as was hitting my head against a brickwall the whole time. Someone please help!

This was the original thread I believe:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/messenger-signin/my-messenger-contacts-can-not-see-me-online-when/3fff985b-5c86-45d9-8793-01733e2f31ab?page=15&tm=1405949466089

If I have somehow managed to miss the solution being posted somewhere, then please point me to it (none of the old ones from that thread please because they do not work at all). If there is no solution then how about an update at the very least please on what's being done?

Cheers,

Kate

Hi,

My friend use Skype on the Mobile.

Their Skype status is shown as available even when they are not connected to the network.

This status is misleading.

PS: I've noticed this for those who used it on Windows Mobile. Not sure if this is the only affected area. This could be the same for other mobile and desktop scenarios. Not sure though.
