What does this message mean, when I go to start up Windows Live: There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service. If the error persists, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative.

We were recently changed from hotmail.com to windows live mail.  When it changed my outgoing mail showed my contacts that it was from Jane Doe.  I want to remove Jane Doe and change back to my name.
I need to know how to find out what my incoming and outgoing mail servers are in windows live mail.
A number of my e mails are coming through marked as "bulk" why is this and how can I stop it.
I'm using Windows 8 and my email is from Virgin. When I open my email it often (not always) comes up with the message "checking for new messages on imap.ntlworld" This can take many minutes to clear and allow access to my email. Any thoughts?
i want to use font size 11 to compose messages , it defaults back to size 10

I have retrieved the user data from the old PC.

The old PC has a failing hard disk, and the PC will not boot.  So I cannot export Windows Essentials Mail messages or contacts.  All I have is the old data (the entire user profile).

How can I use this data and get e-mail working on the new Windows 8 PC.  My intention is to install Windows Essentials, Mail - and then somehow get it to read the old data (copy folders from old to new?).

Has anyone done this sucessfully?  Wondering what folders, or at least, what steps to take to make this happen.  At the least, I'd like to restore old e-mail and old contacts.

Cheers,  Duncan.

I wish to have it back because I have old friends that I wish to speak to again. Someone please help me get my account back.

By the way I'm new to forums, so if I displease a few of you with my newbie status, I apologize.

P.S. This is NOT a forgotten password issue, someone for sure DELETED my email account!

Running on Windows 8 with Windows Live Mail.  If you save an email to a file it is saved with an .eml file extension.  These files can then be saved anywhere (i.e. your desktop).

Then when double clicking the file the mail client (Windows Live Mail) would open with the email in the Inbox.  Old Outlook clients worked the same way.  I've had this working AOK with Windows 7 for some time.

With the same scenario under Windows 8 the Windows Live Mail client opens but the email is no where to be found.

The file association is AOK:  .eml = Windows Live Mail  (from File "Set Associations" screen).

Even just saving the email to a file from the client (Windows Live Mail) and then immediately trying to select it again does not work (after deleting the original email from the client).
