Problem with WLM. The bar at the top - File, Edit, View etc - has become inactive. If I click any of the buttons nothing happens. I have tried it in several folders. I have tried restarting WLM and restarting Windows 10. No good. I then googled how to repair it. This says go to Control Panel Uninstall Programs and click Windows Essentials. Then click Uninstall and the uninstall wizard gives you an option to repair. I tried this and it didn't work either. It seemed to start and then just didn't start.
I'm stuck now. I would reinstall WLM but to do this I would need to export emails (I have a lot) and contacts, but since the export button is in the File section which won't open I cannot.
Can anyone help? Is there a fix program or a registry hack to fix this?
I have just returned from a two week holiday. I started up my pc and tried to get email and got this message:
Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory (0x80041161)
I am using windows 10 and live mail 2012. I am an absolute dinosaur when it comes to fixing things so any suggested remedy will need to be written for a complete idiot. Hope someone can help – I have seen other answers on here but I don’t understand them.
Thank you
Lynne
It's been a month now that I keep losing my Categories on a daily basis. I operate with Windows 7 and Live Mail 12.
I have the same settings on my Laptop that does not suffer this problem although I checked they have same settings. I tried repair through Windows Essentials, worked all right for a couple of days but then the system suffered the same problem.
What now? Please can anyone help?

The last 24 hours I have lost my calendar page in my FrontPage editing website program (no problems on the other pages). Plus my trash-can has been emptied (not by me), so I can't restore from there. How do I recover and restore from let's say two days back?? I am running Windows 10.

I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 pre-installed. I am looking for a Live Mail download, which I have on my desktop (upgraded to 10 from 8.1)
