For years I have used Windows Live Mail. and used its calendar function.

Today I signed into Outlook (for the first time) from the icon in the Live Mail menu, only because I was looking for a way to print a blank calendar month. When I signed out and went back to Windows Live Mail I found that its calendar was blank and I thought I had lost our calendar and its contents. So I signed back into Outlook and found the complete calendar again. What a relief!

Why were the current calendar items in Live Mail erased? Can the Live Mail calendar be retrieved?

Does this mean that I have no access to a calendar in Live Mail unless I start fresh from today?

If I now use Outlook for the calendar, do I have to sign out each night when I switch the computer off? If I forget to sign out, will I have a problem the next time I switch the computer on.

If Outlook picked up the Live Mail calendar is there any way that Live Mail picks up the calendar in Outlook?

OP - Calendars in Live Mail/Outlook.com

WLM had the (had) the capability to post a "message Rule" like all posts from the Microsoft Community should be put in this folder called "MS Community" - cannot get it to work for a hotmail or live email in WLM.  Can others get it to work?

Since I upgraded to Windows 10 My calendar won't update when opening Windows Live Mail .  Everything else works so I am thinking I can just delete the calendar.  Is this possible?

If not, has anyone had any success in deleting Windows Essentials and re installing?

Have tried all suggestions about creating( and saving!) groups in Live Mail using Windows 10. Can't save the whole group - half of it disappears.  Then it works for a while then next time I come to email the group it messes up again.  It was always OK...what's going on?

I recently had to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch.  I backed up my personal data.  I forgot to backup my contacts from Windows Live Mail.  After the new install was complete, I thought I would be able to copy my contacts into the WLM files and I would be good to go.  Unfortunately, I may have not put them in the correct location because I still do not see my contacts in WLM.  So I created a new contact in the app and went looking for that new contact to get the file location.  Can't find it.  Additionally, I noticed the backed up contacts have a file extension of "contacts".  I was going to try and import them through the import function in WLM but the file formats of "contacts" is not an option.  The standard formats are there but my backups have the "contacts' file format.  Would appreciate some help!

Hello,

When i open windows mail, i have a problem.

"impossible to open the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32/software/microsoft/internetExplorer/main/featurecontrol/feature_behaviors. Error system 5. Check that you have right for this key or contact support."

What is it? I press ok, then the same message appear, then i repress ok, and windows mail launch.

More of that, i send message that i don't want to send to my contacts. It's like i'm infected. I use adwcleaner but the problem persist...

Sorry for my bad english, i'm french.

I am Trying to set up earthlink e-mail and keep getting Socket error 10060 and windows live error 0x800cccoe. I also have windows live a bellsouth e-mail already set up.

I have Windows Live Mail as my desktop email client.   However, shortly after all the November 2015 and subsequent updates had been automatically installed on my PC, something rather strange has come to light.

As regards my Microsoft email account, messages that I send out are received by recipients - as evident from confirmation received from recipients.  Yet the very same messages not only remain in my Outbox but also appear in my Sent Folder.  And when I view the message list in my Sent Folder, I note that in the To field, the recipient’s name or email is not reflected but my email address!

And, as regards my POP email account, it is the same.  However, sent messages, although delivered to recipients, comes back in my INBOX with my email address (in parenthesis) reflected in the From field.  And when I try to open the message, it says : A Problem occurred while trying to open this message.

How strange but can anyone figure out why this is so?  I have even done a Windows Live Mail Repair but it’s made no difference whatsoever.

If I uninstall Windows Essentials completely and then re-install, would all my messages in the respective folders also be deleted?
