After upgrading to windows 10, my old contact list (about five years old) merged with my People Live contact list, more than doubling my contact list and making the information inaccurate.  Unfortunately, when I back-up my computer, the backup list of contacts only includes the old list from when I didn't sign in to Windows Live Mail - not the current list when signed in.

After many days of trying to correct the list, and deleting the old information which reduced the contacts from over 1900 people to 860, I signed into Windows Live Mail on a second laptop computer that I also upgraded to Windows 10.  Instead of the accurate 860 contacts now on the People Live site, the contact list now showed over 2800 entries.  I quickly disconnected the internet connection so the 2800 entries didn't sync with the newly accurate People Live entries.  I have deleted all contacts on my laptop from the contact list when not signed in and would like to know how to start over with a fresh list when signed in so I can sync with the People Live contact list and reduce the contacts to the accurate list of 860.  Any ideas?  Any suggestions on ways to backup the Windows Live Mail list that shows up while signed in?

P.S.  I did try uninstalling Windows Live Mail and reinstalling Windows Live Mail to see if I could get a fresh list, but it still shows 2800 contacts when I sign in.

While deleting junk mail in livemail 2012 on my laptop (and adding some senders to blocked lists) I think I accidentally blocked my own (live.com) email address as I stopped receiving emails. When I checked the security options in livemail, I found my email address in the blocked senders list and removed it. I also manually added my email address to the safe senders list. I'm still not getting emails on my laptop but can see them, in the outlook browser and on my iPhone, so it seems to be an issue with livemail not wanting or being able to retrieve them.   By the way, I actually have two live.com email addresses, the one I'm having issues with is private and my other unaffected is a work one.  I've checked the properties of both and they are identical.  All the synchronisation settings are correct too.  I even added myself to my contacts hoping livemail would accept me as a safe sender but I show there as offline even though I am logged into Microsoft.  I've restarted Live Mail and my laptop several times while trying different things. Any ideas how to fix this please?

Converted to Windows 10.  Lost my Windows Live E-mail contacts and history but got it working after two days of work.  Today it won't even open up. Spoke to Microsoft and was told they no longer support Window Live Mail.

Loads and loads but will not open.

On the start menu I can choose to Send New Mail - this opens and will send mail out correctly.

Original Title: Security alert

How do I remove a security alert, that is about certificates expiring, in Windows Live Mail 2012. It is on just one email, which is a known sender, when it pops up my email is locked and the only way I can get rid of it is by turning the computer off. I can't even select the email to delete it. I am using Windows 10.

Anybody out there please help!

Suddenly since the 7th March my inbox has been flooded by multiple copies of duplicate emails. They flood in every time a new email arrives. I have tried to various solutions suggested in older posts (removing and reloading my email account, scanning with MSE, increasing the time out on receiving messages) but nothing seems to work. I have read it may be a Windows server error? If so how do I get this reported and fixed? Interestingly I am only getting duplicates on my lap top on not on my Windows Phone. I have been in touch with TalkTalk (my mail provider) already and on their web mail there is no problem. Can anyone help, it's driving me crazy....................

I have registered an account with Outlook.com and want to migrate my emails from my desktop client windows live mail running on windows 7. I have looked at the guidance from Microsoft help facility however the link 'install the Mail Migration add-on' only opens the page to my Outlook.com account and not the Add-on it seems to refer to and which is needed to complete the migration?

Please help with this as I can't use Outlook.com without importing the emails and contacts from windows live mail.

Thanks
