I have the same problem many others have in that my windows live mail calendar is continuously updating. I do not use the calendar that often but when I noticed that large amounts of data was being used from my quota I searched and found that by signing
out of live mail the calendar stopped flashing and also the data transfer.
I have tried several of the 'fixes' suggested by your moderators and other people that say they have cured their problem. My problem is still with me. I could live without the calendar but by being signed out from WLM and do not have access to all my contacts.
In fact my list has reverted back to one I had over 12 months ago.

I am not a computer master. When I receive emails from others that have photos or other images as part of the message, more frequently than not there is a square that represents, I presume, the image. Inside this square there is an upright rectangle
that seems to represent a sheet of paper with the upper/right corner folded over with an open line that cuts off the lower/right corner. Like this:

I have Windows 8.1. Please tell me how to get this images to appear.
Thank you.

I composed an email, pressed send. The email was sent to Outbox. I opened Outbox, tried to send again and Outbox came up again. When I opened Windows Live from program file I get a screen that says it is trying to send email but nothing happens. It is
locked-up
Unable to send or receive messages for the Sbcglobal (jmrutz) account. The connection to the server has failed.
Server: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10061
How do I fix this.
Not all mail servers allow IMAP. Check with yours.
I have enabled IMAP in all my Virgin Media email accounts - but I cannot find any way to add any of those IMAP accounts in Windows Live Mail 2012?
Without warning we lost all of our contacts and Hotmail service in Windows Live Mail (2011 version). I imported an old contact list and our Pop3 emails have always been available, but when I added our Hotmail account to Live Mail we get a notice saying
that Microsoft is syncing the account and to check back later to read messages, but it never goes beyond that and we can not receive any Hotmail emails.
Each time I try to compose an email message in Windows live mail, I get the message "A problem has occurred while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again."
I am using Windows 8 64 bit.
