Hello -

I recently got a new computer with Windows 8 on it.  My old computer is Vista and I am trying to figure out how to transfer all of my emails and folders from my old computer to the new one.  I have already done a complete file transfer with a cable and it seems that Windows Mail did transfer but I can't find it to open it.  I have the Icon as a shortcut on my desktop but when I click on it nothing happens.  Then I had a window pop up saying Windows Mail is already running.  If this is the case, where is it?  How do I see it?  Also, any new emails I have been receiving having been coming into the new email account and then leaving as quickly as it arrives.  I believe it is ending up on the email account I have been trying to find.   Help!!!!!

Thanks so much in advance!

Several emails have the same subject line.  They have been grouped together under this title.  I need to separate them, as this way I can only read one of them, the other does not open.  How do I do this?
How do I total the file size of photos in Win7 to copy to a CD? XP was no problem.
A few days ago, I set up four (4) new email accounts on Windows Live Mail (I already have 2 such accounts, including one set up last week for Skype, so I can do it, is possible)

Initially, there was an error message, now gone, does not repeat, can't recall the number

Each time I open my 'email', the other accounts are opened, but the 4 in question, continue to ask me to complete the 'properties box', twice for each address, but for no result

The banner line of each email page states that '...in synchronising your accounts ... please return in a few minutes' (or something like that ...

In the Left Column, where the addresses are lsited, there are no  ... inobx, sent etc ... for the 4 new boxes

It is like they are in limbo ... I followed the process outlined, it seemed fairly simple

Perhaps I have omitted to do 'something'

A bit confused ... do not know whether to simply delete them, try to start again ...

Anu ideas would be appreciated

Tx
My friends account was hacked (password was found out, account was used to send money requests). The MS Online Safety team investigated the issue (I have the case #). After they investigated, they (understandably) said that they need to temporarily suspend the account.

They said that my friend could get it back after a little while using the standard recovery options. He doesn't have access to the recovery emails or phone number, so he opted to enter information about the account. When he does that, he gets an email saying that recovery is not possible with that method because 2-step authentication is enabled. He never enabled 2-step auth, so maybe it was enabled by the person who accessed his account.

What can he do to get access to his account again?

Thanks.
DO WE REALLY NEED ALL these "All"s under each/every Account/et al.????? WOW - trying to MOVE a simple email down to Local Folders is like scrolling in **** + all these alls makes each trip a looong way, often "blind" to where you're going, then ..... zipping right past your goal. Even a businessman like could appreciate the simplicity of just having QUICK VIEWS Unread .. All ... All .... All .... etc. THEN OUTBOX LOCAL FOLDERS etc. Some ideas for the geniuses that complied this maze - a step backwards from Outlook Express: 1. Ability to HIDE Account #1, Account #1 and especially Storage Folders ... with all it's alls (really? someone got paid for this one?) 2. This one may be too difficult: Combine ALL Accounts Storage "folders" into Quick Views ... I might be asking for a barrel of monkeys, I realize 3. Perhaps there's a layout that could be created (in addition to the above) more similar to an ORGANIZATION CHART instead of this loooong list type presentation. Some of us have many categories, under which are many others - for business et al. Potential Respondents: IF you don't understand the wishes, please don't respond
The junk mail security options in my WLM don't seem to be working.  None of the options result in junk mail in the junk mail folder.
Do I have another indicator set incorrectly?
In Windows Live mail most of my old and all the new contacts  have a caution sign annotated with the statement that the info could not be saved and that I should check the info and try again.  I do.  To no avail.  How do I insure the info is saved?
I just got the computer and I have many codes that I have had to enter and changed many passwords and I still tells me I have the wrong password. what is the problem?
I have WLM 2009 on my computer and saved the contents of the Windows Live Contacts folder.

Having re-installed WLM 2009 after a problem and pasted the folders back in it now doesn't find them. It just creates a new empty folder.

Can I make it use the old folders with all my information in?

Thanks
