Windows Live Mail FAQ
I am not able to login to my livemail account in windows live mail.
I am however able to login to that same livemail account if I go to the hotmail website and enter the same username and password as I use when trying to login in windows live mail.
When I try to login via windows live mail I keep getting a message saying "The email address or password are incorrect. Please try again"
Because I cannot login via windows live mail I cannot access all my contacts or my calendar as they are linked to this particular email address.
I have tried removing the email account and reinstalling it.
I have tried changing my password. This failed repeatedly and after several failures I got a message saying I had requested a code to change my password too many times and I will have to wait until the next day to try again.
I am wondering if this problem may be related to the fact that a few days ago I wanted to use my facebook account. My sister has an iphone (I don't) so I went through the lengthy process on her iphone to add my facebook account to her iphone. I used the hotmail account that I am having trouble with now. Could this be the cause of the problem? I have since asked her to delete my facebook account from her iphone. She said that should not be necessary. And I don't think she knows hot to delete my facebook account from her iphone - she has only had the iphone a short period of time and is not very tech savvy.
Could this be the cause of the problem? If so, how do you delete a facebook account from an iphone?
If this is not the cause of the problem, can you tell me what is the cause and how to fix I?
I am using IE 10 and Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308) of Windows Live Mail

Windows Live Mail marks Junk Mail messages flagged as NOT Junk Mail as READ when they have NOT and have only been marked as Not Junk
this makes it difficult to see what has NOT been read when you go into your folder
Microsoft need to review their junk mail options, including marking messages/emails as containing viruses - rather than just 'junk mail' or block sender, etc
but the main issue is it marking it as read when you are ONLY marking it as not junk
Message: Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Windows Live Mail was unable to locate its message database. If you've moved the database files to a new location, click OK to reset the database path to that location. Otherwise, click Cancel to proceed.
When Live Mail then restarts it polls my online email servers and retrieves new messages. How can I try to find the missing database?

When accessing contacts I get the message: All of your contacts do not have an email address assigned
This just happened as earlier in the day, and for many months, I have had no problems with access.
Any thoughts? Your help is appreciated.

I am running WLM 14 on W7. When I start WLM, I connect with a Live ID. When I add a new contact in WLM, how long does it take for that contact to make it into people.live.com? Does this occur in real time, or some time later? Thanks.
