I recently experienced a crash which required uninstalling and reinstalling Windows 7 via the recovery files that came stored on the computer. I downloaded and installed Windows Live Mail 2012 and loaded backed up emails, contacts, etc. into it. Everything appeared to be working fine for a few day. Now, all of a sudden, emails that I delete come right back and appear in the Inbox and All Mail folders.

I want to replace Live Mail with Outlook 2003, but I want to first delete several messages that I don't want to import. Please help.

When trying to open live mail I get a message "There was a problem signing you in click ok to continue" when I do that it takes me to the hotmail site but not to the computer based app. How do I get my e-mail without having to go to the hotmail site?

I received a reply from Neha.Gupta with suggested solutions on March 21, 2016, and subsequently replied back to him. I cannot now find that topic entry on the community, and have not heard back from Neha. this is my first use of the community, so I could be doing something incorrectly. Suggestion please? Thanks.

Is Windows Live Mail still supported by Microsoft and is it secure, or should I switch to Outlook? If switching is recommended would all saved emails in Windows Live be moved to Outlook?

Split from this thread.

I have just installed the windows 10 upgrade to windows 7, and then also installed windows essentials.

I have imported my contacts from my windows xp computer via the wab file.

There are a lot of duplicates so I have clicked "clean up contacts".

Sadly, every time I try this, a window pops up saying my username or password for my Microsoft account is wrong, and the "clean up contacts" process never begins. I can assure you, neither my username or password is incorrect. Indeed if I hover over the account button, it states quite clearly that I am signed in.

How do I fix this please?
