HAS something happened with windows live mail/ or hotmail/outlook.

My problem started in Windows Live Mail.

i have since  tried  logging into the hotmail/outlook website and gone to the deleted folder and selected recover deleted emails, but this hasnt worked. Any suggestions, help appreciated.

I have upgraded to Windows 10, now Windows Mail Live 2012 will not receive mail.  I get the following error message.

I have tried the Windows Mail Live repair and also uninstalled and reinstalled the program.

Unable to send or receive messages for the xxxxxxxxxx account. An unknown error has occurred.
Server: 'pop.outlook.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800C013E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

Thanks

Hi Firedog...  I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Home from Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit SP1 after finally resolving issues with "Windows Update not responding" and high CPU usage in Windows 7.  Once all that was fixed, I was able to download all the updates and install them and everything worked great.  I then downloaded Windows 10 through Windows Update and installed it.

Everything installed smoothly to Windows 10 including my mail program.  I have been using Windows Live Mail 2011 for years and it is currently working perfectly in Windows 10.  All my emails, folders, contacts, mailing lists, calendar, et all remained intact and the program is working properly.

I have not tried to open the new Windows 10 Mail App.  I like Window Live Mail and would like to continue using it, but I'm afraid to switch to the new app.

Now here are my questions...

  1. Can I just continue using Windows Live Mail 2011 since it is currently working satisfactorily?
  2. Is there any danger that WLM 2011 will quit working and losing my emails or contacts?  If so, is there a way to back them up?
  3. Should I update to Windows Live Mail 2012 even though I've read there have been some issues with Windows 10?
  4. Can I open the new Windows 10 Mail app to see how it works and still keep Windows Live Mail?
  5. Does the new Mail app retain my current mailing lists?  Does is allow mass mailings? (I currently send out some mailing to about 100 contacts at a time.)

Thanks for your time...

What a waste of time this is, incoherent changes, unnecessary changes and options minimized. How do we highlight (bold) a folder? used to be able to do, esp. when you have a hundred folders. How can we change the color of the mail page, this light blue is horrendous and I have tried the 'account colour' that only changes the folder names colour, not the full screen colour.

The basic mail format or screen page is ineptly designed, we like paraphernalia small on our screens, so we can focus on what we are doing. Why have the symbols/icons changed.

It's absolutely un-user friendly. It's a joke - what a FU. The designer should be fired from his job, it's pathetic.

Hi,

I have just reinstalled Windows 7 and Windows Update does not find Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594)... Neither is it available on official Microsoft site. Official download link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49486&fa43d42b-25b5-4a42-fe9b-1634f450f5ee=True is dead and link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3093594 is only a description.

Is there any other location this can be downloaded for Windows 7?

I have been using Windows 10 Windows Live email for several weeks on my new Dell desktop computer.  Starting two days ago, every time I open Windows Live, I get an internet security warning window pop-up that says: "the server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified" "Do you want to continue using the server?"  If I click "Yes", I start receiving messages, but quite often I get another error message showing a server error code 0x800CCC90 - "problem retrieving message" and "unable to send or receive messages for the Att (cmpember) acct".  I have changed nothing since the initial email setup, and everything had been working fine to this point.  I can eventually get all my emails by closing and re-opening Windows Live, but sometimes it takes two to three tries to get all emails downloaded.  My email servers are the standard pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com.  I have called At&t, and they say the security certificate issue can be fixed either by MS or Yahoo.  I have no problem getting my email from the yahoo website.

I am using Window 7 home on my desktop computer, and I am using Windows Live Mail for my emails.

When I click on Windows Live Mail it is connecting, then authorizing then a message appears asking me to enter user name and password for the following server, the user name and password are already there 100% correct. When you click ok another message appears saying unable to send or receive messages as an incorrect password was entered.

I have checked all the settings an they are all 100% correct but I still have this problem. Also checked with the ISP that I use everything is correct they same problem is with Windows Live Mail.

My windows live mail has an unsent message which will not send.  I have deleted it completely but the message saying it cant send because it is too bit and to break it up keeps appearing and is stopping any more mail sending.  My service provider has suggested that there is still a thread of the message still trying to send.  I cannot get help from anybody to get rid of this message, can anybody help here. Cheers
