I just installed Live Mail on a new machine running 8.1. It seems to be receiving messages OK but when I create a folder and add a message to it the display does not update to show the new folder. Presumably it should appear below deleted items. The new folder name does appear as an option if I select another message to move. Can you please advise how I get these folders to display properly. Also is it possible to transfer folders from Outlook Express on my previous machine and if so how can I do it.
I can't open email.  I get "A problem occurred while trying to open this message  .  . . " and I can't send email.  I get "The message could not be sent. Some of the recipients for this message are not used. . ."  All of this I could do with the same addresses last week.
How do I get PLAXO to work with WINDOWS LIVE MAIL
I've been trying to recover my hotmail address for close to a week now. Trying to go through the password reset option that sends a code to a phone number results in me never receiving a text, despite knowing for a fact that my correct phone number is on file. Using the alternate option and providing a ton of information to verify that the address is mine results in me receiving an email with a password reset link that has "already expired or been used before." So I have finally created a new outlook identity just to be able to communicate with any sort of support in order to recover my ancient hotmail address - what needs to be done to receive a password reset email that HASN'T expired before I can even use it?!
I recently had Windows 7 (ultimate) installed on my old laptop to replace Windows XP. Since Windows 7 does not support Outlook Express, I want to download and install Windows Live Mail as my email software. My home desktop computer has Windows Live Mail and I am comfortable using in and I'm not interested in using Outlook. Most of the time, my laptop is used away from home and I use my ISP's webmail access. Can I use Windows Live Mail remotely? If I need to ask my ISP about this, I'll contact them. I did see that there are some sites offering Windows Live Mail downloads but they are not a Microsoft URL website. I do not want to download from anywhere else as I get too much junk and unwanted apps, etc. from other sources. Also, for the record, I'm almost 70, retired, somewhat stubborn and not looking for a lot of "bells and whistles"...just want an easy, reliable, and secure method for handling email like I had with Outlook Express. I would prefer a email message in lieu of checking back to the Community as I don't do a lot of boards, forums, chats, etc. Also, not a social media crawler either.

Could you please help fix an issue with sending photo album via windows live mail. I have a paid subscription to windows live mail (ie formally Hotmail and now outlook.com). have had this problem since Skydrive was changed to Onedrive. I have read all of the other various past threads on this and similar issues regarding sending photos, emails, attachments, as well as issues with syncing, etc. I tried the fix-its associated with some of these threads and tried other solutions as well. The problem seems to occur after sending the email... It gets stuck during the step of creating an album on Onedrive... ie it is unable to upload the photos to onedrive for sending... I was able to do this the very week before Skydrive was changed to Onedrive so I do not know if there are some different settings, etc... But I think it is an issue on the Microsoft end because my father who lives out of state and has a completely different account, etc but also uses windows 7 called me for help with the very same issue... And a friend of mine who also uses Windows 7 and windows live mail (ie outlook.com) is also having the same issue.  I do hope Microsoft can resolve this issue. Thank you

Could you please help with the following issue?  I have a paid subscription to windows live mail (ie formally Hotmail and now outlook.com) and am unable to send an email with more than one photo in it. I have had this problem for the last few weeks since Sky-drive was changed to One-drive.

Solutions Attempted: I tried the 'fix-its' associated with some of the related forum threads and other solutions as well, including the following: I have checked and have confirmed that my pop settings are correct and that my firewall settings are not to blame.  I registered the correct dll files related to SSL and checked SSL, smpt, pop, and port settings, etc and these are all correct. I checked windows live communication policy settings in the registry and there are no issues with registry keys, etc.  I also removed my account and re-added my account and uninstalled/re-installed Windows Essentials, etc, removed all Windows Live registry keys and old email before reinstalling... and all of these attempts were  to no avail. The problem is still not resolved after trying all of the aforementioned solutions.

The problem occurs when sending an email with more than one photo... It gets stuck during the step of creating an album on One-drive... ie it is unable to upload the photos to one-drive for sending... I was able to do send more than one photo the very week before Sky-drive was changed to One-drive so I do not know if there are some different settings, etc... My father who lives out of state and has a completely different Windows Live paid account and is a completely different ISP,  etc, and also uses windows 7 called me for help with the very same issue... My son who also uses Windows 7 and windows live mail on his notebook computer (ie outlook.com) is also having the same issue ... ie not able to send more than one photo either as an attachment or as a photo album via the Windows Essentials Desktop Client..

Please note that I am able to send an email with 1 photo... but am not able to send more than one photo via the windows essentials client.  I am however able to send more than one photo when emailing directly from the server -( ie logged on to my account directly from the IE11 as well as the Firefox 29 browser window).  But when using the  Windows Live Client on my Windows 7 desktop computer I cannot send 2 or more photos via the photo album or as attachments in the same email. The email gets stuck in the process of creating a photo album on One-drive when trying to send an album.

Up until recently -- a few weeks ago -- I have always been able to send photo albums via the windows live client. I have changed no settings on my computer or on the Windows Essential Client since that time.. Then one day I tried sending an email with a photo album consisting of more than 1 photo and the email got stuck in my outbox. I tried sending more than one photo as an attachment and the email got stuck in the outbox. I tried sending more than one attached PDF documents and the email proceeded to be sent as usual. I tried sending one photo as an attachment and the email proceeded to be sent immediately as normal... Then I tried once more to send 3 photos as an album and the email got stuck in my outbox and was never sent...  The 2 other people I mentioned above tried this same test and are also able to send 1 photo but not more than 1 photo... This seems to be a problem uploading/syncing between the windows live mail client and Onebox on Windows 7.

Is there some way to resolve this issue quckly?

Thank you

HELP i am using windows 7, windows live mail,my server account was recently  terminated and now it has been restored a new password has been used and i can now connect but i still am not able to send or recieve emails I can go to the OUTLOOK EMAIL site and my emails are coming through to there ,as they allways have ,but not being fowarded on to my windows live mail,I have gone to settings on outlook and tried to foward the emails to windows live mail but still no emails get through What do I do!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Vista desktop. I also have a Windows 7 laptop. My Vista came with Windows Mail, which I have loved. I paid someone to install Windows Mail on my new laptop with Windows 7.

However, with the last update I got from Windows, something has happened that kind of ruined my Windows Mail. All illustrations and such do not come through and someone tried to explain to me that anything with coding, etc., will not download.

So now I am looking for an email program to use and I prefer a desktop program. From what I've Googled, Windows Live Mail is a desktop program. But then there is something called Windows Live Essentials and I don't know if that is just an add on to Windows Live Mail ... or what!

I have a LOT of folders and keep a lot of important documents, which I copy to an external hard drive. I want an email program where I can continue to do this.

I had downloaded Windows Live Mail 2011 from this site: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29224

It was my intention to install this on my Vista machine, but then I got confused and decided I'd better talk to someone first, because in clicking on another link, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials-other#essentials=overviewvista, it states that Windows Live Essentials is no long available for download for Windows Vista.

Basically I am just plain lost on this email stuff and I'd sure like some clarification and help. So I'm thanking anyone who will take me on and set me straight.
