Windows Live Mail FAQ
I have downloaded a virus onto my HP Compaq laptop-WIN32/Rovnix.gen!My anti virus is Microsoft Security Essentials,
I have done a full scan and tried restoring to an earlier date twice.There was another virus but this seems to have gone.
How can I remove this virus?
I have WLM set to search for mail every 10 minutes but this does not happen.. I have to do this manually by clicking on the send/receive button.
Also the default button under the page where the search time is set is greyed out.
In looking through the posts, is it correct that there is no way to send a group e-mail with windows live 2012? I can create categories but not send to them?
If I right click the send e-mail is greyed out. If I type in the TO: section and I try to send, I get an error of type in valid e-mail addresses. It seems some say go to 2011. How do I get that? And if I do, how will my my messages and contacts come over from 2012?
I am using Windows 7 and Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) for Live 2012.

Hi there, I have recently had to perform a system recovery as I had some corrupted or lost files, so backed everything up and pushed the go button. On getting everything going again I downloaded Windows Essentials and loaded up Windows Live Mail 2012, but whenever I start up Live Mail the Windows User Account Control keeps asking me if I will allow Windows Live Mail to make changes to computer, and I have to say yes to start Mail.
This is very annoying, and I didn't have to do this previously when using Windows Live Mail 2011. I can turn down the slider on User Account Control, but presume this then jeopardizes my security.
Can anyone help me with this issue please?
So my Dad has got Windows Live Mail and I thought I'd bag the same, then I can help him.
I go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials-other#essentials=overviewother and click on download.
Then after clicking on the set up file, bugger all. The program just sits there with its progress bar going up and down. Any ideas or will it get ignored like all the other support options...
Running Windows 8.1 and 64bit.
Not a good start really.
well, i am on a new laptop and i can delete messages but i don't know where they are going, not into the deleted folder. and i cannot mark mail as junk. any suggestions. i have uninstalled and reinstalled and still can't get these functions.

My windows live email has had me locked out for 4 days. I can retrieve email thru my serve, but, I cannot go directly into from my icon. I am entering my password/email correctly and it just tells me popup server is not responding.
What do I do? I am very frustrated and have talked to 4 different companies where the people don't seem to know anything and are not listening to what I am saying.
