My father's Windows Live Mail has been working just fine until an update was installed two nights ago. Now, it will not open. No error, nothing. The circle just spins and spins and nothing happens. I have tried seeing if there are other updates, and there are not, making sure he has the latest version, and he does. I have done the "repair" option twice. Still.... nothing. He is operating on Windows 7. His computer has sufficient space. I went through to troubleshoot anything and everything possible, spending 7.5 hours on his computer last night. We worked offline, online, turned off his antivirus, made sure he had no malware on his computer - literally everything I could think of. It just will not open. He needs his old emails, so I am not brave enough to uninstall it completely because he will lose everything. Without being able to open it to export contacts, email, addresses, calendars, etc.... we are stuck. Please help! (He does not have a Windows Live login, either.)

In Outlook Express using Windows XP, I had an icon which appeared in bottom right of screen if un-opened mail was in my Inbox.

I have bought a Win 7 PC so need A new mail client, I loved outlook express for its simple look, I was hoping Live Mail 2011 [downloaded last night] would be similar.
I want live mail to stay the same format. So can I stop it upgrading and just receive security fixes.?
Would really like a simple answer, As I am not connecting my new clean PC to internet until I have answer as reading this forum seem to be some terrible horror stories since the 2012 update to Live Mail.

Yesterday I was able to attached photos to my email, today just can't do it. I can attach but the icon is blank. When I click on it it says:

[Content]
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
I repaired Windows Live but this has had no effect.
What do I need to do.

When I create a category in windows 8 live mail it wont sent to them.
I add the group name in the 'to' field,. It has a little + next to the category title,which shows all the member's emails when you press on it. However, when you press send it comes up with 'type an email recipient address in the to.. field'
If I add all the members by hand it works fine.
What am I doing wrong?

A couple of years ago now, me and my friend used to share battle.net accounts under each others emails.
stopped playing blizzard games and in the meantime his account [*** Email address is removed for privacy ***] got compromised. and lost the battle.net account attached to it.
I'm no longer in contact with my friend at all and would like to see if i could gain access to the account as he has long stopped caring about it and disconnected everything he could from it.
If possible id like to see if i could regain access to it and the battle.net account that could still possibly be attached too.
I know a fair amount about the account, put in as much as i could in the recovery form but alas was not enough.
