Nostalgic...
I would like to know when I registered my account, date to be exact, if it's possible.
Thanks
I've set up Win. Live mail but when I click on the views tab I cannot get select columns to work. Customize view does work but I would like to set up columns.

I too have this problem and have been looking for a solution for about a year but so far nothing.
I think it was about 3 years ago that I set up a rule on windows live mail 2011 to forward emails to my hotmail account. Now that I can send emails direct to outlook from the POP account I no longer need this rule. Problem is there seems to be no way to delete it. I cant see anywhere on windows live where the rule even exists. I set up the pop account on outlook and now I'm receiving everything twice. Its driving me nuts. There must be a solution. Anyone who can help will receive my eternal gratitude.

4 very old emails have re-appeared in my quick views. They are from Oct 2013 and were deleted at that time. They don't show in any of my inboxes and I can do nothing with them. I can't delete them, read them, move them or anything else, I simply get the message
"message could not be displayed. Windows live mail encountered a problem..... Check you computer for low memory.
I ca see that this query has been answered before but \the solution does not help me as it applies to Outlook - I am using Essentials 12 and don't appear to have a "Gear" icon.
Advice would be appreciated.

My normal email program is via MSN Explorer. However somewhere in the past I figured out that I could get some of my scanners and printers to direct email if I used Windows Live Mail, whereas they wouldn't connect or recognize my MSN email program. Ditto for some software that sent emails out of their internal program. Apparently it has something to do with what the email program is based on, computer or remote server I guess, and forgive me if I got totally lost in that department years ago when we left dial-up.
My frustration for the last year or so that Windows Live Mail has actually worked to process outbound emails out of software programs, is that it literally takes several minutes to get up and running. In the meantime I cannot do anything else; the Windows Live Mail loading pop-up window stays center-screen and Esc nor anything else stops or hides it. I sit and wait for from 1 to 3 minutes for it to actually bring up the WLM screen so I can begin creating the email. No other program on my Vista sp2 computer takes anywhere near that long to get booted up.
Any idea what's bogging down the start of WLM? Why would it take so long to gather its necessary ingredients off the hard drive and get going? MSN Explorer and Internet Explorer email begin as soon as I hit their shortcuts.
My Windows Live Mail has started to regard PDF file attachments as prohibited !
Why is this, and how can I tell it not to be so stupid, without allowing all sorts of other attachments, which might well be dangerous ?
