Question about Outlook Express

A laptop crashed (permanently) and I have copied 5,000 sent emails from the hard drive into a documents library folder on my desktop using Testdisk. Everything else was fully backed up. My wife wants to be able to refer back to them regularly. Both the laptop and the desktop have Windows 7 operating systems with Windows Live Mail downloading from a POP3 server, sending via SMTP server, if that is relevant.

The files will open individually with Live Mail by double clicking, but are essentially unusable as they are, since they all show the same created date and have no proper names. I would rather not re-index 5,000 sent emails! When Trying to Import them into Live Mail the error message "No messages can be found in this folder or another application is running that has the files open. Please select another folder or close the application..." is received.

I have rebooted the computer, moved the files and also tried "Save as file" after opening them. I can continue to open them individually but Live Mail still fails to "see" them. I have also tried importing them into a Windows 8 laptop with Live Mail and got the same message.

Any ideas?

HI. In the past few months, I keep getting black panes in Windows Live Mail. I can only get rid of them by restarting the computer. Lately, I have to restart several times an hour in order to use email. I know KB2545826 causes problems, but it's not on my computer. Any other ideas or advice?

I'm computer illiterate, so if you can answer in 'for dummies' terms, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

The folder was a subfolder under her inbox.  She deleted it and now we can't find it to restore it.  Is this possible to do and if so how?

i stared this one to help my little brother(11 years old) when he want to login on his hotmail he gets this massage

"It looks like someone else might be using your account". and he needs this email for his school, and want to go on skype with his friends, i tried everything, i did the password reset like 4 times, filled in alot of qeustions, but it still doenst work, can someone please help me little brother out, thanks

I forgot my password to my email account , when I  entered my account info to Microsoft  and they did not send me a reset password because the info was wrong in profile page long story short  I had to open another account  , now with the old account will it close on its own or will it just keep gathering emails .

did get it to open this am, but it just froze.   now it won't do anything.  sits there with the little circle spinning.

Original Title: windows live mail

For a time, I was using Windows Live Mail. However, it eventually stopped working.

It usually hangs at the loading screen, but sometimes it will open and immediately stop responding, and this issue persists even after reinstalling. What should I do?

Additional info: The rest of the Windows Essentials suite works. I am unable to create a second user account, as PC Settings is broken.
