I had an email that could not be sent due to exceeding the maximum size, so I deleted it in the Outbox.
Now I cannot access my email and always get a "Windows Live Mail" window that states it is "Checking for new messages on 'Hotmail'. The next line states that it is "Downloading header 0 of 0 in 'Deleted items'. It is stuck on "Executing" this task.
It shows that it has "Completed" checking Hotmail for new messages, is stuck on the 2nd task and cannot complete the 3rd and 4th task of checking my pop.east account or update the calander events.
I cannot "Stop" this from happening or access my mail.
Any suggestions?

I was able to fix my Live mail by repairing windows essentials. However I don't know why I keep getting a pop up asking me to sign into my Microsoft acct. every time I open it. I thought I disabled it by making live mail the default but its still there. WHY
SHOULD I HAVE TO SIGN INTO MICROSOFT TO DO MY WORK? I am very unhappy with windows 8.1. I feel like I'm using windows ME also known as WINDOWS MISTAKE EDITION. Microsoft has been doing this long enough by now not to have a system with these basic
problems. Obviously they didn't test it long enough before releasing it. I know people with MACS who never have these problems. After having great success adapting to my IPhone I should have shelled out the extra money for a MAC. Had this machine a week
and already there have been multiple windows updates. For sure this is my last windows machine.

I have used Windows Live for my Hotmail Account for many years and would like to continue to access my emails without going thru a browser to send and receive my mail. The windows Live mail was working fine until approximately 3 to 4 days ago, and I am on my 2nd day of trying to solve this problem. I have tried almost every relevant suggestion I could find online, but no solution yet. Please help...

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I have removed and re-added my Hotmail account in Live Mail. There are no emails stuck in my Outbox. I have disabled Windows Firewall and checked for messages. All with the same results in the error message.
I habitually save my WLM drafts (with Ctrl-S) immediately before closing that window. Yet often upon closing WLM nevertheless displays a prompt requiring me to choose whether or not I want to save the (already saved!) draft. Why does it do that, and is

with same result. i can access my emails via dodo website (webmail) but would prefer to use windows live. any advice please??
