Have been using windows live mail 2012 successfully for a couple of years. Yesterday, a pop-up box appeared for the first time asking me to sign in. (Has sign-in happened automatically before?) When I attempted to sign in, I received an error message: "the email address or password is incorrect. Please try again." I rechecked and both were correct, but I carefully retyped them and tried again. I even tried using my Comcast password to no avail. So, I logged into my Microsoft account and changed the password. When I tried signing into windows live mail with the new password, I still continued to get the same error message. But since email still worked, I gave up and turned off the "sign in" prompt. Today, however, I noticed that I cannot access my email contacts list without being signed in to windows live mail. So, I'm back to square one: unsuccessfully trying to sign in. After both an online chat and a telephone conversation with Microsoft support, here I am. Can someone help?
Did'nt help.
The problem may be not with windows mail but something to do with my hotmail account.
I can access it through web browser but neither through my phone nor through win mail on my laptop.
When synchronising, it never connects to my mail hotmail mail 1 though it connects to hotmail mail 2.
The error msg :
Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (xxxxxxx1) account
Server Error: 0x80072F78
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80072F78
Hello,
I received an email from "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***", saying I should reconnect my Microsoft and google account.
Is it safe or phishing?
Best,
Niels
Hi there,
I have recently encountered a problem in my Windows Live Mail account, where I am not able to open emails which have a Calendar Invite attached to it.
ie. If you open this on your phone, it will opt for you to accept or decline to the event listed in the email to add to your calendar. It is most likely a Google Calendar invite, but I am not sure as it works on my iPhone 5.
Basically, I believe that if a simple task like opening such an email is not possible for Windows Live Mail, I may think about switching services, as it is such a fundamental problem.
PS. I am able to open the email on my iPhone 5.
Thanks,
Eric
