Hi,

Just in the past few days I found out that my sent mail has been staying in the outbox.  Haven't changed any settings or added programs.  Use Avast free security.

Receive error messages for everyone of outgoing emails with sample below

My ISP is Charter.net & when I use their web based email service, everything works fine.  They claim it is a problem with WIN Live Mail, although I spoke to friend of mine this AM & he is having the same problem.  Just started the past few days.

Here is sample of error message:

The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***', please contact your email service provider.

Subject 'Fw: Nice!'
Server Error: 452
Server Response: 452 4.1.1 nbto:1 too many rcpts 100
Server: 'SMTP.charter.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

That email address sent to is good because I sent to it via Charter's Web Mail.

Please help,

Thanks!

I woke up to my desktop on the initia start-up screen. Could not log on to windows 8. I used tablet to reset password.  I still can not log onto PC. Says invalid password.  I can log into account on tablet.

Hi MarzenaNowak,

Welcome to Microsoft Community forum and I am here to assist you in opening your emails on Windows Live Mail. Please be informed that the error message you have receive is a generic one which means that there is not enough memory that is why you cannot open the email. To troubleshoot this, follow the steps below:

1. Restart the computer (this is to ensure that Live Mail is fully shut down, and that none of it's components are in use when the computer starts)

2. Click Start, type CMD but do not press enter

3. You will see cmd.exe in the search results, right click on it and select Run as Administrator - type your admin password if asked, and if UAC pops up asking premission, allow it

4. You should now see the command prompt, with the following displayed:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:Windowssystem32>

5. Copy the following (Ctrl+C)

esentutl.exe -d "%userprofile%AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live MailMail.MSMessageStore"

Note: the "" are necessary

6. Right click in the command prompt Window, and select Paste, so you now see the following:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:Windowssystem32>esentutl.exe -d "%userprofile%AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live MailMail.MSMessageStore"

7. Press Enter. esentutl will now defragment the Live Mail database file

8. Once done, you can close the command prompt, and restart the PC again

Let us know if this does not resolve your issue so we can continue our support.

Thank you.

I followed these instructions and now I can't even load Windows Mail.

When creating new email in Windows Live Mail on Windows 8.1, size of print display can suddenly increase (or shrink to illegible) without any action by me.

Re. Windows Line Mail, when I attempt to send an email to a group list, the message will no longer send unless I enter an address in the cc box.

This just started today.  How can I correct this?

<Original title- Windows Live Mail >

Hi everyone, I hope somebody can help!

I am running Windows 8.1 and it is currently updated as of today 29 August 2014.

As of 27th August 2014, I have been unable to open WLM to access my email. I keep getting a dialog box with "Recovering the Windows Live Mail database..." and then another pops up stating WLM has stopped working and the only option is to click 'close'.

I have come across several solutions and have tried them all, from creating a fixkey.reg file to uninstalling and/or repairing the WLM. Nothing seems to work. Not even a fresh installation of the Windows Live Essentials (complete) after not having it for 2 days on my system.

I can access my emails via Outlook that is integrated into my system, however, it is not always up to date, and syncing doesn't always work, unless I log into my Hotmail account via IE.

I would rather prefer to be able to use the WLM application as I find it easier and better than using Outlook (integrated software) or via IE.

If anyone has any help or can offer tips that would be greatly appreciated.

On a Windows 8 computer launching WLM invariably and immediately causes Windows Update to be changed to "never check for updates" which causes the Action Center to display a red flag.  It can be easily re-enabled but I would rather not have to do this every time mail is started.

SFC /SCANNOW initially detected a corruption and repaired it and now no longer shows any corruption.

WLM appears to work perfectly in other respects.

Thanks for any advice.

PC

I recently switched from OE to WLM because I purchased a new laptop (Win 8.1). I incorrectly assumed, since OE is over 8 years old, WLM would be far more advanced in every aspect.

A huge annoyance is: whenever I need to find a folder in Storage Folders, instead of keying the first letter of the folder I seek, as with OE, I must scroll down to find it. To make matters worse; all of the Storage Folders are expanded by default to reveal all of the sub folders by. So, as I scroll down, each time, I must manually collapse each expanded folder before locating the one I want. Very time consuming compared to OE.

I would very much appreciate a way to cause WLM Storage Folders to behave like OE.

Hi,

When signing into WLM 2012 with my hotmail account I have no folders for the hotmail account just QUICK VIEW and OUTBOX.

I have all the sidebars turned on and not in compact mode... Folder view, etc...

How do I see the folders again?

I have signed out of WLM and relogged in.. still the same...
