I'm getting the same this error and followed your advice.  Essentials didn't help.  Still getting same error.

How do I fix?

I recently discovered, when I send a .jpeg file using my WLM account, that the email recipient is also able to view other .jpeg files that are in the same folder and other folders as well as the image I sent. I use Microsoft Picture Manager to manage my files. So, I don't know if this is a WLM issue or a MPM issue. Needless to say, this is a huge problem because people have access to images that you never meant to send or ones that you don't want anyone else to see. And, since these images may get "grabbed" from different folders, there's no way to tell what images were sent.

I discovered this issue quite by accident when I checked a .jeg attachment before sending the email and found that I could view other images by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the screen. I now avoid this problem by copying the images to a separate folder that I created just for sending .jpeg attachments and then clearing the folder before its next use. Changing the attachment to an "album" in WLM prior to sending it seems to work, too.

Is anyone else aware of this problem and if there's a solution to it?

I have a group of 36 emails addresses and I have been using this for two years with Windows Live Mail 11.

Now on a new PC with Windows Live Mail 12 I either

A)  get a message

----------

The error message box with the heading Windows Live Mail states

The message could not be snet

Type an email address for one or more recipients in the To CC or Bcc box

--------------

or

B)  the email message is sent only to me  (a member of the group)

This problem was discussed in Oct 2012 in this forum but there is no Answer there.

Many thanks

I have windows 8.  I am suddenly unable to receive e-mail with attachments.   I use windows live mail.

Yesterday I opened my windows live mail 2011 and it was operating fine, opened it a little later and not working fine, my emails come through but I cannot read them, all of the text of the email are put into .htm and .txt files and I cannot open them. I did a virus scan found a malware and deleted it, I also did a system restore, and have tried to delete my windows live stuff so I can reinstall, but it will not let me delete, it states that my firewall is not on, and I am not the administrator, but the firewall is on and I am the administrator. Please help me fix this!

My Windows Live Mail (WLM) simply stopped working today; I can bring it up, but it is not sending or receiving emails.  I have a Time-Warner Roadrunner email address (***@nyc.rr.com).  I already checked with T-W, and the email address itself is working fine (i.e., I can send and receive emails "within" the TW email system, i.e., "outside" the WLM system).  When I hit the "send/receive" button in WLM, I get a logon error pop-up (it does not recognize the server), followed by:

Unable to send or receive messages for the ***@nyc.rr.com account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR invalid user name or password.
Server: 'pop-server.nyc.rr.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

Can anyone help me get my email working again?

Thanks!!!

I'm running Windows 7 and using Windows Live Mail.  When I opened it this morning the content of all of my folders was gone and the one folder I had created also disappeared.  In addition, the Unread Feeds folder was populated with 40+ items.  I have never used or had anything in that folder.  When I attempted to recover files from the Live Mail  Storage Folders, the Inbox Folder was not listed nor was the one folder I had created.  Any help would be much appreciated.

 Greetings all

Windows live mail "make default" is grayed out in the general options tab. I have no way to make it default. When ever I click on a link on the web, MS outlook launches. I dont want to use that.

thanks

I am using Windows Live. I have entered my contacts and separated them into categories. When I try to start a new email and hit the TO button all of my contacts are displayed in alpha order. I can't figure out why my contacts are not populating in the categories I placed them in?
