I have set a Gmail account into Windows Live Mail (WLM).  I did all the setup instructions to the letter.  Incoming mail as IMAP.  When logging into WLM I encounter a message stating:

"Live Mail needs to download the folders before you can read the messages in this account.  To download the folder, click Download.

Clicking Download I get another message:

"The server has rejected your login.  Please verify your username and password is correct.

No matter how many accounts I set up with new Gmail addresses and passwords I get the same message.  The problem seems to be in the server.  What can I do to correct the problem?

My email is intermittently failing to download - I get the error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Btinternet account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR inactivity timeout
Server: 'mail.btinternet.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800420CD
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

Any help would be gratefully received

Or is this an inherent function of WLM?

When I check mail during the day on my smartphone and delete it, I then have to delete the same mail on WLM.  Would rather WLM just present what's on the server every time it checks in for new messages.

Thanks,

Doug

Hello,

I use windows live mail to access my email through my windows 8 laptop.

My email address is ************@tiscali.co.uk  which is part of talktalk

I have no problem receiving emails what so ever but it is when I go to send them that an error message appears.

It is nothing to do with the email address I am sending to or my internet connection.

Please help me!

Thank You,

Tim Holt

Hi:

I use Windows 7.  I have been using Windows Live Mail on my laptop just fine for months.  This morning, I get the error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Live ("""""""""""") account. Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to Windows Live ID at this time. Please try again later.

Server Error: 0x80048862
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048862

Please help.

Thanks!!

I used Windows Live to move mails between an existing outlook account to a new one by dragging and dropping, creating new folders in the new one in the process. Seems to have gone well in Windows Live and everything is in place and all folders in the existing account are now empty. However, when I log into the new outlook account directly, the new structure is not there and mails have not been moved. Equally, the existing account does not seem to have changed. I'm a bit of a novice and would be so grateful if a kind soul could point me in the right direction.

Hi,

I can't import my .IAF account file in windows live mail 2011 following the steps as expected.

When I confirm the file account I want to import, the following message appear: "the import did not complete because an error occurred".

How can I fix it?

Thank you

My Windows Live Mail  Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) will not send any mail out- the Icon on the toolbar has a Red X through it. I have Windows 7 Home Premium, I went to my Internet Explorer v. 11 and there was no Work Offline option listed in the File menu list. I could not find a way to get my Windows Live Mail back online to send an email so I uninstalled IE11 and reverted back to IE9 and now I can send out mail again. I know this is just a work-around fix so I would like to know how to use IE11 and my Windows Live mail 2012 to work together again.

These emails were deleted, but came right back up. I'm using Windows Live Mail 2012 with Windows 8.1.  I can read, delete and move new incoming mail. This just started happening a few days ago. Had been working fine for about a month.
