Windows Live Mail FAQ
I am using Windows Mail and the automatic spellcheck is not enabled. When the spell checker (ABC) is clicked the response is:
"This language is no longer avalable for spell checking. Please select another in the spelling options dialogue. OK."
How do I enable spell check in English??
I was forced to upgrade(?) from hotmail to this new Outlook.com. I had my hotmail for eons. I have to log in with my windows live account info which is OK. However I can't figure out where the outlook.com files are for my email or for my folders. Are they stored on my hard drive? What are the names of the files. I looked in C:Usersyour nameAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live Mail and can't find anything that makes sense. Thanks for your help.
I'm thinking could be related since I connected to Skype? Which was just these last few days!
Is my only others option, reinstall? =/ maybe corrected..
I'm getting "this app can't open" with my windows live mail tile .. the tile has changed colors to a light blue shows a number.. but unable to open as of yesterday evening.. instructs to go to store where I check for update, not needed and license sync, which is fine as well ..

WLM was working fine for months. This problem just started. I would appreciate any help in solving it. I have tried repairing the program but didn't help. The following are several sequences of events that help define the problem.
1. Open WLM
2. Send message, it sends OK
3. Close WLM
4. WlMail.exe is still running in task manager
5. Try to open WLM
A box opens with message: Sending email using ........ Not Connected
6. End process WlMail.exe
7. Start WLM
8. Send message, it sends OK
9. Send 2nd message, it hangs in Outbox
10. Close WLM
11. Try to open WLM
A box opens with message: Sending email using ......... Not Connected
12. End process WlMail.exe
13. Open WLM
14. Close WLM
15. Try to open WLM
A box opens with message: Checking for new messages on ...... Not Connected
16. End process WlMail.exe

Original title: Windows 8.1 Live Mail
Using Windows 8.1 Windows Live Mail. After being on the internet on Saturday, the 13th of September, I went back to Live Mail and discovered that all of the contents in my subfolders had been erased. This was the 4th time it had happened. On August 2, I was able to restore all messages and content by using system restore. On the 13th, it happened again and I went to restore history. There were only partial content. So I tried System Restore. Nothing came back.
I would like to know what caused this as I did not delete anything that I wanted to keep. I understand the messages are gone but what did it? I am very afraid to use Window Live Mail ever again. One person suggested the problem was with McAfee. I do not know. I am no expert and only know what I have learned through trial and error. I hope someone can give me an answer as Microsoft Support can not as I was told they are not trained in Windows Live Mail.
Hey please help me, i can't access my account. its written "It looks like someone else might be using your account, To help you—and only you—get back into *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, we need to verify that it's yours."
The problem is i can't verify my account because the other email that has the code is synchronize with my email, i mean it's the old email (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) and i can't access the new one (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***). So i don't have a code. Then i should filling out a questionnaire. okay i filled it for 5 times then i got email from microsoft to make a new account because microsoft unable to verify my ownership using the information that was provided. I really need this email because its integrate with all my social media accounts, and skype and many more, the email is really important. Before this happened, my email suddenly sent some spam messages to all my contacts without me knowing because i suddenly opened a spam message. So please microsoft help me regain my email.

It seems my email was hacked. I followed the instructions to change the password which I did. I followed the instruction to go to the deleted file and clicked on Recover Deleted Message" and that does not seem to help. All the folders I created are missing. Every email I receive goes to the deleted file and I can't send out email. Can you please assist?
