Hi,

Since yesterday, when I log into Windows Live Mail none of my contacts are showing. If I start a new email and start to type someones name, whereas it used to give me a list of people that matched, it now does nothing and says that I don't have any contacts with an email address.

I have also noticed that I have a button on the top right hand corner of the screen saying "sign in". I don't believe this is usually there.

I have clicked on this and tried to sign in, even changed by password so I know I am using the correct one. When I click on the sign in button I get a sign in screen showing my ID. When I enter the password (which I know is correct) I get a message saying that either the sign in name does not exist, or I have entered an incorrect password.

Can anyone shed any light on what I may be able to do to resolve this?

Many Thanks

T, too, am having this same problem with Windows live mail telling me a problem as occurred. I tried downloading an installing the lastest version but the install failed saying I had to be logged on as an administrator (I am logged on as an administrator) Error: 0x89970005 Source: crt90-i386. I then uninstalled Windows essentials and tried a clean install and got the same message with the same error code but source: D3Dx9 this time. Now all may saved emails are gone. I should have just stopped using live mail and switched to Outlook. Live mail still works on my laptop but obviously any sent mail from my desktop is not on the laptop. This is very frustrating.

We recently discover several unsent emails from a few weeks ago inside a subfolder inside  the sent folder.

The folder is caller " missed sent" . I did not create the folder or the odd name for it. I tried to find some info about why these emails were not sent. and can find no info. "missed sent" returns nothing even in a web search. Where did this folder come from? Why were the emails not sent.

I am getting 30 spams a day. When I try to create the new address, following all the directions for IMAP, STMP, etc.  I get strange error messages about authentication or "plain tokens" I want to keep the old address for a while until I let everyone know that the new one works. I understand that to create a g mail, I do it within a g-mail account .  Can I not create the new address within Windows Live Mail? that option was declined, maybe because i use Firefox?

The program and incoming mail open as quickly as ever, but every step of sending New Message has a lengthy stall time and sending an email can take ten minutes which is of course driving me insane. Please Advise ASAP.

Thank You.
