[Original title: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D]

Hi

A couple of days ago without any warning or any problem before, all of a sudden my Windows Live Mail account has stopped working, it says that their is an authorization problem & would ask for my password, even though I enter my password the screen keeps popping up even though everything is correct.

This is the screen that comes up, please help?

Unable to send or receive messages for the (email address) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] invalid user or password

Hello! I would appreciate your help very much on this matter. Since 3 days ago, I can not have access to my hotmail account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***). I have tried with a code number (I received a 7 digit code, but when I type it, I got  message saying that this code did not work). Then I tried with the form and I made sure to complete it with accurate information but I received emails saying that they were not able to verify that I own this account. After trying several times, I receive an email saying that due to my multiples unsuccessful  attempts to recover my account, they recommend me to create a new account.  I have had this email account for 17 years, so this is very frustrated for me, because of all the information I have on that account and because this is the email account I use in a daily basis. I hope you guys can help me. Thanks.

In about half the emails that my mom tries to forward with a photo she gets an error message- One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure that you want to send this message? I have tried various solutions including: (not in this order)

options > mail > compose > convert messages to photo emails when adding photos (Both checking and unchecking the box)

repairing Windows Essentials

removing and reloading Windows Essentials

This was not a huge issue until we recently had to factory restore the computer. Has there been a solution to this error message other than a very long process in which to forward the email by saving or as an attachment? I tried to explain the long route that I have seen other people using but it's too complicated for her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Despite uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Mail I am unable to receive emails on my Sky account. I can send emails on my Sky account and my Hotmail account works completely satisfactorily.

When I click to receive messages on my Sky account I get the following error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Sky account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'pop.tools.sky.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

This is clearly a problem with Windows Live Mail as I can receive my Sky emails perfectly well on my iPad.

I am using Microsoft security essentials as my anti virus.

Can anyone help to resolve this issue.

This really doesn't pertain to Mail, but there isn't a generic category that applies.

When I attempt to log into Games for Windows, I get the following message. The help button takes me to a broken page.

Everything I reference indicates that I need Windows Essentials to have Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant, which does not appear to be installed on my laptop. If that's the case, I'm not clear how there could be a conflict. Any suggestions? Is this supposed to be just telling me that I need to install Essentials?

TIA,

Bill

I've been using Windows Live mail for years and suddenly its started behaving strangely.

When I click to open it takes a while, then is visible in the taskbar but won't open on the screen.

When I hover my pointer over the icon, it shows the small popup, but it won't open in a window where I can use it.

I've searched this forum and others to no avail.

Have tried many suggestions but nothing works.

Before I uninstall I would prefer to have a fix.

Help will be appreciated.

Regards

*Original Title: Problem adding contacts

I have 2 email address I can not add to contacts in Windows Live. They are gmail addresses in the form *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. Why? One of the was in there before, but I inadvertently deleted it.

Problem resolution:

I reported a problem with adding contacts to Windows Live and got a reply. I was asked for information about the problem & I replied, BUT the email bounced back with this message:

The e-mail address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

Looks like Microsoft doesn't really want my input.
