We recently upgraded our work computer from W8 to W8.1 and along with several other issues we are unable to use our WLM 2012 to receive or send email from our Comcast connected *** Email address is removed for privacy *** email address.

We have attempted several methods to correct the problem including uninstalling/reinstalling, creating a new account in WLM -- all of which has not corrected the problems.

We are able to access the email through the Comcast website and temporarily through an Outlook 2013 365 connection.  Because we do not desire to allow our employees to access the whole Comcast account for obvious reason we need a program like WLM 2012/O 2013 to give them that access.

We are using port 25 for our SMTP outgoing mail server (smtp.comcast.net) and port 995 for our POP3 incoming mail server (mail.comcast.net) using SSL for both.

The standard answer I've received from Microsoft Support has been Windows Live Mail 2012 is not supported for use with W8.1.  Yet I'm typing this on a W8.1 computer and have been using WLM 2012 for over a year now.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I want to send an email blast from my ATT account but the link will but the link will only allow me to send the message through Window's Live which rejects my email address, why is this happing?
I am using Windows 8.1. I cannot figure out the difference between Sent Items and Sent Mail. When I send an email sometimes it ends up in Sent Items and sometimes it ends up in Sent Mail. What is the difference? This is very confusing! Thanks.

A problem with sending e-mails with Windows Live 7 has turned into a nightmare. My internet provider tried for hours last night to resolve this, which ended with trying to close and re-open my account. Now all my folders & important e-mails have been "lost" or deleted.

I have tried desperately to get them back.  I have gone to my "computer" and found windows live, right clicked and found "restore previous version" but the restore button is grey and can not be used. I could only copy and put that version in a folder, but can't do much else with it or see the e-mails. While it was copying it showed 563 e-mails being transferred which sounds about right but I cannot view them.

What can I do now?

I need to cht eith someone in support
A few days ago I noticed that WLM had some (not all) of my contact's birthdays one day off.  I fixed about a half-dozen of them and now these events have disappeared from my Birthday Calendar.  No amount of refreshing or signing off/on has succeeded in bringing them back.  Birthdays I did not edit are still in the calendar.  The new birthday information is correct when I view the Contact via WLM or Outlook.com but the associated birthday events have disappeared from the Birthday Calendar in both platforms.  How can I get these to reappear?  I'm screwed if I forget my wife's birthday.

The error message I receive is, "A problem occurred while trying to open this message. A problem occurred, please try again." No error code number just a yellow triangular box with an explanation point. My internet provider tried for hours last night to resolve this. We checked and unchecked boxes, tried different port numbers etc. This error occurs when I try to reply, forward or start an email message. It does not even attempt to do the motion of sending or go in my outbox.

HOWEVER, I now have an even larger problem......I was advised to close and re-open my account and moments after I started I realized all my e-mails were also being deleted. I have tried desperately to get them back.  I have gone to "computer" and found windows live, right clicked and found "restore previous version" but the restore button is grey and can not be used. I could only copy and put that version in a folder, but can't do much else with it or see the e-mails. While it was copying it showed 563 e-mails being transferred which sounds about right but I cannot view them.

Help!!!

(Also.....I've been having other issues. The dolby audio turns off and has to be re-clicked to on. My HP C510 estation printer could not be recognized by my computer, the troubleshoot code stated I needed to install the driver when it was already installed. I tried countless fixes for that too and finally did a system restore a few days ago. My printer now works consistently but the audio was off again this morning!)

I was restarting my computer last night and for whatever reason when I went to my Windows Live Mail page, where I had previously required a password to enter my account, that option was no longer available, and also I got an error message saying that my settings were off I guess and that I was not able to send or receive on that particular account.  Fortunately I do have that account on my webmail.   But I want to be to access my WLM on my desktop as I was.   What has happened to my settings and why and can it be fixed?   I can take a screenshot of the error message and try and send it to you, but not totally sure how to do that.  Thanks.
