Im having trouble with my Windows Live Mail 2011, I keep entering the username and password, but it won't accept it and it keeps repeating the prompt. I think I know my password, but it won't accept it no matter what. Please help.

I read the forums, and saw that you needed to post an error message. I closed my email, and this appeared:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Bellsouth (coachk23) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR login failed
Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110

Please, help me fix this so I can get my email again.

I inadvertently removed my live account in Windows Live Mail: myname@windowslive.com. How can I recuperate it?

Thank you very kindly for your help! Manuel

Hi,

When I click the icon to open windows live it opens a small window showing that is attempting to send mail. It refuses to open the main program. How can  I stop this and get in the main program?

I was the having the same problem as here, but my problem has been persisting for more than 3 months. The problem is not resolved even when I reinstall the application.

My answer in response to Helene_C is:

  • Please verify the version of your Windows Live Mail. Live 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)
  • Have you tried removing and re-adding your account in Windows Live Mail? If not yet, please remove your account and reconfigure it. For the steps on how to reconfigure, please refer to the link below. Problem solved after add and re-adding account.
  • Did you make any changes to your account? No
  • Do you encounter this issue before? No
  • Do you receive any error code or error messages? No
  • Please provide us the screenshot of the section wherein your folders are missing in your Windows Live Mail and the folders that are visible in Web.

Hello,

I am having the same error. Tried all the above troubleshooting steps, but it will not just work. Please find error message below.

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'test'
Server: 'mail.wmaker.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0B
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): No

Is there a list of all the envelope icons that are displayed in Windows Live Mail with an explanation of what each one means?

Win 7 Pro w/SP1 fully updated     Current Picassa 3.9.137 (Build 80)     Win Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)

Lotsa data here....I've read many many posts; please hang in there.

When sending a photo using the default email acount,  the send/receive hangs & says:

Delete the photo email, create a new one, & try to send again'  Error Code 0x8CCC0003

Server.'smtp.midco.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8CCC0003

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 25

Secure(SSL): No

Doesn't matter if I'm pulling the photo from my desktop and right-clicking/send to/mail recipient or if I'm using Picassa's email function (set to use Windows Live as default email program).  Same Error.

Here's what I've tried; between each and every step I've rebooted & when possible, I've tried to send a pic.  Further more, I don't have a Microsoft Account--BUT according to Win Live splash screen 'Sign in to Windows Live Mail' 'learn more' link--I don't have to sign-in with a Microsoft account to use Windows Live Mail.

1)Deleted existing (and only) Win Live email account via Win Live/Options/Email Accounts/delete

2)Added 'new' email account with confirmed smtp, pop, user, & password via Win Live Options (same acct info as before)

3)Uninstalled Sky Drive/One Drive

4)Uninstalled Windows Essentials

5)Ran CCleaner on the registry and fixed all.

6)Reinstalled Windows Essentials; choosing to install ONLY the mail program

7)Re-established an email account (default) with identical & correct info

BTW  Win Live/Options/Mail/Connection--the 'stop signing in' option is not available. Also, while in Win Live the 'sign in' on the ribbon is not available.

When the Win Live splash screen 'Sign in to Windows Live Mail' pops up, it doesn't matter what I do.     If I  choose 'cancel' (remember; I don't have a Microsoft Account) to blow by the log in screen,  I can at least fill in the 'send to' cell and hit 'send/receive/--but I still get the error code.       If I  enter my pop3 username & password  into the splash screen cells duh:  I get 'The email address or password is incorrect'.

So then...online community wizards....I simply wanna send pics through Win Live Mail w/o using the 'new photo email' ribbon selection.  What say you?

One final freakish note; the pics embedded in the emails--have this text adjacent to them

This album has 1 photo and will be available on OneDrive until 1/20/2015.

Isn't OneDrive the rebranded SkyDrive?  The Sky Drive that I uninstalled?

I have windows 8.1. I am using windows live mail for my email. I get my email through time warner and use a POP /SMTP server. I set up the account and it worked fine for 6 months. A few days ago it developed a problem.

When I opened the program it connects, looks for email and gets to "receiving email" at which point it sits and spins. It will not download.

My wife uses WLM and the same Time Warner servers for her email and hers works fine so I have to think the problem is on my end. The server and port settings are the same, the only difference is the specific account name and the password (both of which have been double checked).

I can also access my email on my old computer using windows mail with the same account and settings as well as through the TWC email page.

What could cause this specific computer to fail during the receiving step. Is there something I can check or do to diagnose a problem?

Any help would be appreciated. I have a basic knowledge of computers but if you need specific information please include how to get it. I may know I may not, assume I don't and you'll probably be right.

Thanks for your help.
