Question about Outlook Express

Hi

In the past I have managed to create several versions of my containing folders. The other day I thought I had sorted them out (I moved the contents from a duplicate folder to an original and deleted the duplicate). I now have a nice list of folders beneath my email addresses. Problem is, when I select "Move to folder" I get a list containing all the old unwanted duplicates. I do realise that this is probably self inflicted as I chose to store the folders on a drive not containing my OS. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can find/empty/remove/delete these extra folders?

Original title: Windows Live not working

When i try to open Windows Live Mail it comes up with error message that says

Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Your Windows Live Mail mailbox data is currently being used by another program, such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it tot complete its operation, then open Windows Live Mail again. 0x800C0155. 997

Please help.  I have tried repairing, reinstalling Windows Essentials. I've tried uninstalling my AVG but still did not work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. having to use outlook at present and I can't handle the layout so really would live my Window Live Mail back!!

I have had this personal email account set up for 5 plus years and it has worked without any problems and then suddenly I cannot receive email.   Here is the error code:

Unable to send or receive messages for the mcnamaranevis (camille) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

It would fail to receive and then a few hours later would work. This has been going on for about 3 weeks and then suddenly on 10/23 it would not receive and has not received since.  I added a work email account in 2013 and it sends and receives fine with no problems.  

I have not changed any settings whatsoever and again my other account is working find.   I worry about changing anything or trying to reinstall etc without some guidance because I don't want to foul up my work email, which I have to have.

I have asked this question I Norwegian, but since no one has come up with an answer, I'll try it in English.

Many years ago I made two groups for members of a club I am working for. Now, after I updated my Windows Live 2011 to 2012, these groups have started to act "funny". Egg: One of the groups has 45 members, called member contacts.. It is there, as it should, in the listings over groups. And, when I enter the name of the group, in the addressee's field, it is there in bold characters. BUT! Before it had a +-sign in front, and when I clicked on that, all the member came up. Now there' no +-sign, and no one occurs, and when I try to send it I get the message that I need to enter addressees! What has happened? What can I do to get this rectified? It's a nuisance!

Yesterday I had a "funny" experience". While I wrote an answer on an email, the size of the letter were reduced to less than 8p. The size indicated is still 14 p.

When I receive mail, the size is correct, but when I answer, the size is VERY small. How can I get the right size back?

I am using Windows Live mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) on my Windows 7 Ultimate machine. I had originally setup outlook.com as an IMAP account in my live mail desktop application. Since the access was very slow via IMAP i deleted the outlook.com account info from Live mail desktop. Then i added my outlook.com account as an http account in live mail desktop. Now i am able to send and receive emails. But i am unable to delete any email. I enabled logging and this is what i see:

I have tried completely uninstalling Windows Essentials and verified that C:Program FilesWindows Live is empty

I deleted C:UserskumarAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live Mail

Then reinstalled everything. I still cannot delete emails using live mail desktop for my outlook.com account. I am able to delete emails when i access my outlook.com account from the browser. 

Any idea or help ?

I am not able to open Hotmail.com since yesterday i.e 27 oct 14 IST.  it is showing message that "This page can’t be displayed"

I tried with crome also.  but no luck. I can open gmail.com and other websites on IE and crome.

I can open Hotmail.com site and my account from another internet connection and other laptop.

I am using windows 7 home premium OS and IE 11.0.9600.1

some days back I have manually started some services from "Services". is this action causing problem in

opening Hotmail.com or something else is there.

I tried cleaning history with cookies and rest data.

I also tried doing below steps

             Internet Options, then click on the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check  for server certificate revocation" is unchecked.

             Also verify that "Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL 3.0" is checked, then click OK.

              Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:

             regsvr32 softpub.dll 

            Then click OK.

            Restart Messenger and IE.

but no luck.

pls let me know what should I do ?
