My computer was recently infected by a malicious virus. It was cleared of the virus, but I seem to have lost my Windows Live Mail. I'm being asked for a password but it won't accept it when I enter it. So, I can't send or receive email. In addition to that, all my folders/old emails are gone.

This is the error message when I tried to send a message:

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Subject 'Test'
Server: 'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): No"

Here's the message when I try receiving email:

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Subject 'Test'
Server: 'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F

Help!

All of sudden when a lick a link in an email that I have received, I get the error message "this file does not have a program associated with it performing this action.  Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel".  Clicked on links that have previously worked and get same message.  Any ideas how to fix ?

I created a folder in my mail account. It is not listed under the Storage but under my actual mail account. I actually created several folders there.

I deleted one of those folders today, but when I click on my "Deleted" folder, that folder is not inside. Where did that folder go?

I want to know because it had many, many emails inside it and I meant to empty the emails first and then deleted the folder, but I got ahead of myself. It's not the end of the world, but now that it's come up I'd like to know where those "deleted folders" go. I could find them in my old Windows Mail but can't find them in this Windows Live Mail.

Thank you

I can no longer forward messages with graphic, nor can I send photos. I uninstalled Live Mail and re-installed it. All my pictures are stuck in my Outbox and I still can't forward mail with graphics. My Out going mail port (SMTP) is 587 and my incoming (POP3) is 995.

Hi,

I am unable to receive emails from my mom's email address @rediffmail.com (india) on my live.in email address. There is no NDR or bounce back, it simply vanishes.

I have been through my rules and its not under Junk or blocked senders (for heavens sake, its my moms address and I have received emails before!)

IE/Windows doesn't matter, as this is to do with any OS/browser combination.

I am surprised, because I can get the same email on my outlook.com alias email !!

Any suggestions ?

Many thanks,

I have just installed Windows Live Mail 2012 and every incoming message has the word 'Viagra' as the first word in the title.

How do I stop this happening please?

I am receiving mail okay but I can't send.  The message remains in the Outbox and I'm getting the error code 0x800CCC0E.  There has been a recent change on my account with my internet provider Comcast entailing an expired bulk account and a new, individual account, but I've worked with Comcast already to resolve issues with that, and Comcast has referred me to Windows Live Mail for assistance with this particular issue.
I was one of many with error 0x800488EB, now I'm able to send and receive mail again which is great.

However, a new problem has arisen: I have folder issues.  My personal folders are all intact, however, the "Sent" folder is missing in WLM and I need it back.  There is a folder in WLM called "Sent Items" which has absolutely nothing in it.  Even when I send new mail, nothing is ever put into this folder.  If I log in via webmail, I have both the "Sent" folder with all my sent email and the "Sent Items" folder which has nothing in it.

Also, I have some duplicate folders.  For instance: WLM has "Junk email" and "Junk E-mail," but webmail has "Junk" and "Junk E-mail."  I believe prior to this problem my junk folder in WLM was called simply "Junk." The spam emails are currently arriving in the "Junk email" folder.

Finally, in WLM I have a "Deleted items" folder but in webmail it is called "Deleted."  When I delete an email in WLM it goes into the "Deleted items" folder and in webmail it goes into "Deleted."

This all happened after error 0x800488EB error was resolved by MS.

I am using Windows 7, Windows Live Mail 2012, and this is an MSN account via HTTP.

Thank you,

Debbie

Until recently, when I opened WLM, a message popped up above the notification area worded "collecting and receiving mail" but this has now been replaced with an envelope in the notification area.  This shows a yellow indicator to say mail has been received but if no such indicator appears I do not know whether it means that I have no mail or if WLM is not working.  Is there any way that I can get back the "old style" notification which I assume was replaced by the envelope indicator when WLM was automatically updated at some time.
