Help!  I'm getting the same error message I got a couple weeks ago:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Msn account.

Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

My understanding is that there was nothing we users could do to fix this certificate problem.  Could sure use a Microsoft engineer right now!

I had a problem synching Windows Live Mail (WLM) last May as did many other people.  The problem happened again on October 29, 2014 and was resolved.  The problem was caused on the server by a certificate problem.  There was NOTHING WLM users could do to fix the problem; the fix had to come from Microsoft.

As of this morning, I'm getting the same error message ... again ... and my MSN account is not synching.  Other non-MSN accounts within WLM are synching correctly.  If I access my MSN account through a browser, I can send and receive emails without a problem.

The only additional information I can provide is that Windows Vista ran an automatic update before this problem occurred.  It seems to me that "may" have caused the certificate problem to occur again.

Can anyone help resolve this issue once and for all?

I want to use the Family Safety feature just to get reports on internet activity time for my 20 year old college student, not to block any websites, games, etc. I just want to see how late he is on the computer at night. How do I do this?
My outlook email account was affected by a spam mail.  Every time I go through and pass all the Microsoft security questions to verify I am the holder of the account I get the following problem: I receive a message along with the usual link to reset my password.  Now, the phone number I have registered to my account is my home phone. The only option on the reset page is for the 4 digit pin to be TEXTED to my phone. But as my home phone does not accept texts I have to select I cannot verify the pin number. I am now in a vicious circle of passing all the security questions but am unable to receive a 4 digit pin number to my phone. This is been going on for a week now and to be honest I am thinking of just leaving outlook for good.

Hi, I'm having the sync error with my MSN account again, 0x800488EB.  This just happened a few weeks ago to many people including me and supposedly was fixed.  I remember them saying the certificate was renewed till I think it was 2016 so I didn't expect to see this error again so soon.  I was able to get mail this a.m. around 5 a.m. PST but haven't been able to since.  This is an MSN account via Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 7.  My other MSN accounts are working fine.

Thank you,

Debbie

I suddenly am no longer able to send photo attachments on my emails!  I've never had this problem before.  I am running Windows 7 and have tried using two different accounts.  I keep getting the message that the attachment is dangerous and has been deactivated!  Please help!

support for windows XP has expired this year. Is there any implication if I decide to remove the Microsoft Security Client from my Program Files and dump it into the Recycle Bin?? If so, kindly state them.
