Hi

Can you help, I have same issue, using Vista Sp2, Windows Live mail just out of nowhere came up with this warning: There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service. If the error persists, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative.

Its seems that the program is upto date.

i have  15 computers in network. every user works on there own computer and we use wlm. but some mails are important for so many users so i configure all accounts on all pcs. avg mails for one user 50 per day. so the capacity for mail storage folder is too huge like 50 gb onwards and goes exceeds day to day.my questions for this is as follows

1. is there any corruption occur because of mail storage size.

2. i cant get backup of every user storage folder. what will be solution for backup or auto backup. ?

3 can i store storage folder directly on NAS drive? so i can back up only drive ?

4. if this procedure is wrong what should i do to rectify this?

pls advice me on above issues

thank you,

I recently re-formatted an old Asus laptop using Windows Vista, with service pack 2, and 32 bit.

I have installed loads of the updates, and everything seemed to work fine. I do not use this laptop every day, as I have an Acer I use, from which i am typing to you now.

When I wanted to do the Windows update last week, this Asus just stopped working. I was away for a few days, and decided yesterday to have a look.

I got an error code 80240016. It was suggested I start that pc in safe mode and to scan this laptop. But I cannot get anything done, the pc keeps on dying on me, it just stops working. It stops working in safe mode with internet and in normal mode with internet.

The pc is plugged into a fan, so it can't be from overheating, not sure what to do now.

I need help please, thank you.

Hi, I just started having this problem on both of my laptops 2 days ago:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (xxxxxxx) account.

Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

I tried repairing Windows Live Essentials twice, and I have removed and added my email account several times with no success.

Can you please help?

This is happening on 2 different laptops, one running Windows 7 and the other is running Windows Ultimate Vista.

Thank you kindly!

Melanie Heywood

For the last few days, whenever I open WLM, it continues to load in emails that had already been received and deleted over the last few days.  It also often loads in three or four copies of each email.  It only does this for one of three email addresses using WLM.  How can I make this stop?  Thank you.

OT: Images not showing.

This is about Windows Live Mail on Windows 7.

A few days ago everything was working fine.  If I received something from an unsafe sender, I would get an option at the top of the screen permitting me to add the sender to the Safe Senders List.  When I did that, all the graphics would show up.

Now almost all my mail does not show graphics even when they are from safe senders.

What can I do?

... have your Windows Live Mail repaired. The steps are provided below:

1. Go to Control Panel then click Programs.

2. Click Programs and Features.

3. Right click Windows Live Essentials 2011 then click Uninstall/Change.

4. Select Repair all Windows Live programs in the dialog box.

5. After the repair is done, reboot when asked.

Hey. I just tried this fix and it does not fix it. Can you advise me of any more port numbers I can try? I use port 8 to send out but they may have changed that.

Thanks

Jimmy

Hi there

I was wondering if some kind person could assist me with setting up Windows Live Mail.  Earlier this year I brought a new PC which came with Windows 8.1.  I spent 2 days setting up the dashboard but LiveMail wasn't there so I went with the Windows Mail client? that comes with 8.1.  Have been using it for six months and don't find it intuitive although its cool to have such a clean  looking mailbox.

For the last six months it has been beset with problems - corrupted emails, constant password re-authentication required and now emails that download but that cant be deleted.  All in all, a daily irritation and now almost unusable.  I found out today that Live Mail was still out there and have downloaded it and set it all up and it works fine.  However it has been a while sice I have used it and are wondering how to do the following:

1.   Transfer the contacts from my existing windows mail to my windows live mail?

2.   Pin Windows Live Mail to the 8.1 dashboard (not the desktop)

3.   Very annoyingly No 3 has just exited my brain so I will no doubt have to add to this thread once it finally wends its way back to my increasingly geriatric brain!!!!

If you can help that would be great!:)  N

The connection to the server has failed.

I am receiving the error shown above whenever I select SSL for the incoming and outgoing servers. I have tried other e-mail clients (Thunderbird, emClient, Opera Mail) and receive an error stating that frontier's servers don't support SSL. Anyone have any idea how to correct this? I contacted frontier, and the tech there knew less than I do. If I de-select SSL for both of the servers, everything works fine. I did find on frontier's website that they only support SSL during login and the connection is not secure after that.

Does Frontier Yahoo! Mail support SSL?

Frontier Yahoo! Mail supports SSL
for sign in only. Once you are signed in, the session is not conducted on a secure connection.

Thanks for any help,
