keep getting various error messages when i open live mail, open a new message or delete a message, here is one example

Unable to send or receive messages for the Gmail (brianbird66) account. Header download for the 'Trash' folder did not complete. Could not select 'Trash' on the IMAP server. Try updating the folder list and then try again.

I'm running Windows 8.1 32-bit. I've had WLM set up on this PC for months now with zero issues. The other day when I booted up and opened WLM 2012 I get a popup that says "To help protect your account information, please sign in again." So I click on OK. Then the sign-in window comes up with my username and password already entered (it's been saved in WLM since day 1). I click on "Sign In" and the same popup comes up. It will happen repeatedly as long as I keep doing it. If I click cancel on the popup or on the login screen (doesn't matter which one) it goes away and then up on the toolbar it shows I'm signed in (it gives me the option to sign out). Also even after hitting cancel I have no problem accessing any of my email (there's 3 email accounts setup in WLM), replying to email, etc. Any ideas?

My email address via. Comcast is set up to be *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.  Normally when I receive an email in my Windows Live Mail Inbox, the To line reads as it should, "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***."

But recently I have received replies from someone the To line of which read "My Name."  I realize that if the person created a contact in their address book and set up the contact that way, that's the way the To line would read.  However, the person did not do that and there should be no reason why that would have happened.

I've used "My Name" for various usernames including on a Google account.

Is it possible that Windows Live Mail interfaced with, say, Google and automatically changed that display name in that case of the incoming email I've described?

My email address via. Comcast is set up so that there is no name associated with it.  I should be receiving replies from recipients of my messages showing my full email address rather than a display name.

But recently I have received replies from someone the To line of which read as a display name rather than the full email address.

The recipient did not manually create a contact for me set up that way, which would have explained why it changed.

The display name that was populated corresponds to a username that I have used on a Google account, and the Google account is linked to Facebook.

Is it possible that Windows Live Mail interfaced with, say, Google at the time my correspondent replied to my message, and automatically changed the full email address to that username?

Hi

Help needed

Mail is on outlook.com.

PC and Laptop have Windows 8.1, Mail client is default windows app.

Problem begins when PC and Laptop are connected on home WiFi at the same time.

When is only PC powered on, mails working perfectly and when is only Laptop powered on mails work perfectly.

problems begins when Laptop and PC works in same time.

When I log on on laptop, mails on PC are deleted automatically and  mails on laptop are downloaded.

When laptop finish syncing mails from outlook.com after couple of minutes mail on laptop are automatically deleted and PC start downloading mails and sync it from outlook.com.

And this is happening until PC or laptop are disconnected from internet.

Best regards

Vladimir

Hi drc1939,

I'm happy to assist you with your concern that you could not receive email messages for your Windows Live Mail account.

Please be informed that we’d like you to provide us the answers to the following questions that I have enumerated below. These will help us to investigate your concern:

  • Have you tried using your email account on the web client?
  • Did you encounter any error message? If yes, provide us the exact error message.
  • Does the issue happen when using a different computer?
  • Do other Hotmail accounts encounter the same issue when using your computer?

If your email account is working fine for the web client, I would suggest that you need to repair or reconfigure your Windows Live Mail.

Please follow this link for reconfiguring your Windows Live mail account:

Repair and reconfigure your Windows Live Mail

I hope this will help you with your concern and feel free to post back.

Thank you,

I have the same problem but my server is HTTP and there is no information about that on the link you gave us. It's weird because everything was working very well and now I can send emails, I can access my Microsoft, I can Use Skype... all with the same email address and password but I can't receive emails anymore.
