Question about Outlook Express

My system is Windows Live Mail 2011.

I am trying to transfer 75 contacts all in one category out of a total of 600 contacts to another user.  The export function seems to produce all contacts in both csv and vcf formats.

Any ideas please?

Everything was working fine until Jan 2 and then first one and then the other computer refused to download my brownenergy.com hotmail account.

I've removed them from both computers and re-sync'd. Worked ok for a little while and then started the error and refused to download again.

I have another Hotmail account on both computers in the Windows Live and it works fine on both. The irony of this is the one I'm having the problem with is a paid account that they just charged me for the day before the trouble. The one that's working fine is a free account! I've tried stopping the firewall but this problem exists on 2 different computers, one of which was on a different Wi-Fi network when it stopped the first time.

I have recently re-set up my Live email account on my Mail App using Mac OS X.  I had re set up my account using IMAP for my incoming email and SMTP for my outgoing emails.  Previously I had been using the POP Settings.

As I was previously using the POP settings, I had a POP folder when I signed into my Live account using internet explorer and now that folder has disappeared.  I need help to recover those email as there are years of important email that I need to keep hold of.

When trying to connect to my hotmail account via my new iPhone, the following messages appear "please enter your "outlook" or "exchange" password.  Any of my known passwords are not being recognised.  I think an additional layer of security was added to my account following my email being hacked a few weeks ago,  I've changed my password several times with no success.  Any ideas?

The error message I receive is:

"Unable to send or receive messages for the Live (jasoncollier) account.

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC16"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alrighty then...

I followed the instruction in a post.

New Computer
1. Move the Mail Storage Folder onto the new computer in the
drive and directory that had existed on the old.
Which in my case was the root of H:

2. Installed WML12.

3. Opened it while offline and went to the Maintenance.

4. Changed Mail Storage location to H:Mail Storage location.

5. Closed and reopened the program.

Now the screenshots below shows my 'NEW? directory.
But it has quite a few 'remnants?' from prior moves.

Now the questions?

Is it safe to delete all the empty directories/accounts? [Other than Compact]
Will the database refresh to note these deletions?

Also, I see there is a Backup directory, but within the program I do not see
any menu items that prompt to "Restore from Backup" using the Mail.MSMessageStore
or any other file. Why?

Lastly, if I start from scratch, how can I import only the Storage Folders
with out getting all those extra directories. ie... Storage Folder(1) Storage Folder(2)
in the Mail Storage directory.

At the moment I have 3 Storage Folders in Mail Storage.

Storage Folder = Contains the Shell Folders and 12 Recovered Items folders that are all empty
This is the Folder that the program 'uses?' and its quite useless...sigh

Storage Folder(1)  = Contain all my previous Storage Folders but the are all empty

Storage Folder(2) = Contains 400Megs of Recovered Items which "should" fill
all the empty folders in Storage Folder(1)

What I would wish to accomplish is to have a single Storage Folder with
all the empty folders in (1) re-populate with the 400Megs of messages from (2) along
with the default shell folders  ie..Delete/Sent/Drafts from the folder 'in use' and
have that folder 'named?' Storage Folder with out all the (1) or (2) or (3) appended.
