I followed the Microsoft procedure to import my Outlook Express Email Folders to my new PC with Livemail. The dialogue indicated that the transfer/import was successful. BUT, I cant see them in the Storage Folder. They must be there somewhere as I can see the old folder structure when I right click on' Imported Folder' and hit 'New Folder'. Can anybody help please?

Hi

I have recently started using Windows Live Mail 2011. When i send a message it goes into the sent folder of the particular account I'm sending from, with the email address of the person i've sent to (e.g *** Email address is removed for privacy ***) and I can read the message I sent.

A few days later I get a duplicate of the email in the sent items folder with my email address and account I sent from. I can read the message i sent. But now when I click on the original sent message (e.g. *** Email address is removed for privacy ***) it now says:

Message cannot be found

The contents of this message cannot be found.

It seems the recipients are receiving my emails but this is a highly frustrating anomaly.

Please advise.

Suddenly I've lost all contacts and the contacts icon is greyed out.  How to restore ?

I have a problem that relates to Windows Live Mail on a new Dell Latitude with W7 64 bit using eM Client as my email client.

In Internet Explorer 11 the "file/send/link to" was greyed out.  After some messing around I discovered that if I installed Windows Live Mail and set it as default, then reset eM Client as the default it was no longer greyed out.  So far so good.

Meanwhile I decided to use WLM for some old email addresses wherein I still get messages and I had a bit of a problem with some folders not showing due to my ignorance of this programme.  Through this forum I managed to sort the problem out but something odd now seems to have happened as a result of the actions taken:

1.  The link in IE11 (as above) is now once again greyed out

2.  If I go to "set my defaults" and look at Windows Live Mail the file associations show as eM C files (which doesn't seem right)

I uninstalled WLM thinking it would delete the whole of WLM including the accounts I had originally set up.  However, when I re-installed it the accounts were still there as were the strange file associations mentioned above.  This suggests to me that the uninstall doesn't really uninstall if you see what I mean.

I wonder whether any one can offer any thoughts.

Thank you.

Hello. I am trying to add my gmail account to my windows live mail, but I keep getting the error below. I have looked at the other similar threads, and have tried adding the last part of the email address, even though it says not to, and it didn't work. I have another gmail account on windows live mail, and it works fine, so I copied the exact same settings, and it still wont work. I went to gmail online and enabled pop access, and I still get this error. I just can't understand why this is happening. I hope someone can help. Thank you.

Dear all, I have a different question to this but I don't know who to contact. I have started working for a company in Saudi Arabia but unfortunately the previous IT incharge left without giving me handover, documentation of any required information, giving me any server access etc.

The main issue at the moment is few of the company machines were rebuilt a day before the previous IT incharge left but their the email clients (Outlook) were not setup. I went to the working workstation of another user with configured Outlook and it seems like they are using Hosted exchange services as they are accessing POP3.live.com for sending/receiving.

Q1- Who should I contact and can it be via telephone?
Q2- I need to get the Admin password reset of the Exchange portal (where Email Admin creates/deletes user accounts). What would be required to get this done?

Hi,

I felt compelled to reply to this question as well, this morning I downloaded and installed ms windows live essentials 2012 on my laptop that's running ms windows 8.1 / with media center edition. The ONLY reason I installed ms windows live mail was because of my desire to have ms hotmail / outlook to be set as my desired MAILTO protocol . Now what I'm realizing already that having the ms windows 'livemail' option installed / running is NOT giving me what I really wanted. What I REALLY wanted was to be able to select a mail program such as gmail when I'm using the mozilla firefox browser. Why does microsoft make it SO difficult to be able to choose a email service such as hotmail / outlook.com to handle the mailto: function. At least for me...with all of the MANY improvement's that have been made / added to the outlook.com interface, they SHOULD make it EASY to choose that client if ms windows user's want to use it !! Of course that's just MY opinion.

[Original title: Windows live mail error,]

I have an email address @live.com and I am trying to set up my email in Outlook 2007. After playing around with the settings I have managed to get it to connect to the incoming server but it still won't connect to the outgoing server. I have the outgoing server listed as smtp-mail.outlook.com and I have tried using both port 25 and port 587 and I have tried both of these ports with both SSL and TLS and neither one works. Currently I am set up on port 587 with TLS and I am getting an error that says "Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)." This is pretty much the same error I keep getting regardless of my outgoing settings except when I tried to use SSL on port 25 it told me that my server or ISP, I don't remember, doesn't allow for this type of authentication method. Although I know my incoming server is set up with SSL and it works just fine. I have double checked my log ins and I have changed the connection setting so that my outgoing server uses the same log in information as my incoming server and my incoming server had no problem logging in. What am I doing wrong?
