When I open the junk mail folder in only one of my email accounts, I am not able to remove them all by clicking on the "x".

The error message starts with unknown error occurred. and then when I click Details I get

Any ideas how to fix this?

The odd part is I have two other email accounts that work perfectly.

Thanks for your help.

Recently purchased a new laptop and didn't like the "Mail" program included with Windows 8.1. Loaded WLM 2012 and set up my email accounts as I had them on the old laptop using WLM 2011.  I have 4 "gmail" accounts and one "msn" account. I have noticed that on the "msn" account that I can't delete email messages from either the "inbox" or the "deleted" folder. I have tried doing a "repair" and also "uninstalling" WLM 2012 but neither activity has resolved my problem.

I notice that with the "gmail" accounts, displaying the properties of these accounts I have the following tabs:

General, Servers, Security, Advanced and IMAP.

On the "msn" account I have the following tabs when the properties are displayed:

General, Server, Security.

Since I have multiple devices using these same email accounts (desktop, laptop, ipad, iPhone, etc) I am pretty much forced to set them up as IMAP accounts and I'm ok with that versus doing POP3.

Any suggestions or comments on why the "msn" account acts in this manner?

Also, is there a simple way to migrate all my email from the old laptop to the new laptop without going through the pain of exporting and then importing? I tried that when I bought the previous laptop and lost about half of my folders. I have done the export activity on the old laptop and the directory contains

8.16 GB of data, 24,391 files and 220 folders.

I have Earthlink.  I created an Outlook account and setup Earthlink.  I can send and receive emails for my Outlook account, I can send emails for Earthlink on Outlook with my Earthlink account -  but I do not receive any emails for Earthlink on Outlook. Here is the error message that I receive.  Any advice on to correct this?

Recently l changed my phone number in my microsoft account, then I run into this problem

I came back to the US from China, of course I don't have any reception for my old phone, how would you expect me to get the code? Plus, why a 30-day waiting period is needed while I have alternate email addresses and other information provided.

It's fine to wait for a month, but what's worse is that my XBOX services is limited! I can't have access to see my XBOX LIVE Gold status, and I can't have access to free games and xbox fitness, which means that i paid money for no service for a month.

How can I solve this problem in an easier and faster way? Seriously, in the 21st century, a month waiting period is unbearable.

WLM has shown issues such as freezing often since I have changed antivirus software (though this may be a coincidence) from Norton to Webroot, then it showed my folders in a totally disorganized fashion and finally, a few days ago, all content in my restored folders emails is showing the same body despite the subject being correct. Data is all saved in WLM but with 1 single content and no data showing where the emails are stored on my hard drive. So I can't read any of my stored emails and that is a huge issue as it is my business. I need urgent help. Thank you, Thierry

When I click on the icon on the desktop to open Windows Live Mail, there appears only a box that says "Checking for new messages on *** Email address is removed for privacy ***" and there is a red "x" beside Check for new messages on *** Email address is removed for privacy *** Failed .  I am unable to get the window that shows my Inbox and folders etc. Can someone help me please?

WLM 2012 suits me fine except for its inconsistent behaviour with mailing groups.  I add my group in the 'To' box, I see the group name prefixed by a +.  I click on the + sign (which is in blue incidentally).  Sometimes it expands to the full list of group member email addresses, sometimes it expands just to a random subset, sometimes to no email addresses at all.  WLM 2011 had no problem with this.

I have found no pattern to this behaviour as yet.  Does Microsoft plan to fix it?  I do have a workaround, but it is still frustrating that the issue hasn't been fixed.
