Hi

I posted this question on the W8  forum but have not received a reply.

I use the Calendar that comes with Windows Live Mail.

I have entries going back to the start of WLM (many years) and would like to delete them
all at once so long as they are not valid any more, that is if they have no current recurring
reminders?

I know how to delete the entries one by one, including all the subsequent entries but
that will take a very long time.

Hopefully there is a way to do it.

Cheers

Daniel

Hi ,

why is it that I can sign into my Microsoft account with my password ,but my windows live mail account will not accept  the same password.?

I keep getting the message that the password is incorrect ,try again.

So I then reset it ,on the Microsoft site, this I  have now done several times ,but still no success,

can somebody please help me.

Fortunately I have an alternative email address that I can use ,

regards,

KH

Hello,

I've been having this problem with scanning and attaching scans to emails. I used to be able to scan using a shortcut from my Start menu or desktop, and it would give me the option of scanning a document and attaching it to an email, without saving it as a file (which is ideal for me as I don't need to keep them for later use).

After scanning it would give me the option to scan another page, or not. Then a new email would open automatically with the scanned image already attached.

Recently however, it has gotten only as far as asking whether or not I want to scan another page, after which it comes up with an error message, saying the email application could not be reached, so a new message couldn't be created or sent.

My scanner works fine (it is a HP LaserJet M1522nf), as it is able to scan and save images without problems. However, I would prefer not having to manually attach and then delete scanned images everytime I need to email them.

Can anyone help? I tried to get help through Microsoft Support Techs but they said to come here, and that it was a problem specific to the email application.

Thanks

I back-up the WLMail rules from the registry.  I want to back-up the "Where the subject line contains: *" names entries if they are not stored in the "Rules".

A search of the registry does not show entries, such as "John Doe."

I'm not sure what I'm missing.

TIA

Hi All, has anyone actually managed to figure out what is going on with WLM. I have had password problems with this programmes for the last few weeks. I have scoured the web for answers.

I am running Windows 7 home premium, with the mails server from BT.

I have received error messages when trying to send email, and then a password request every time I try to send/receive.

I have removed and re-added the account, used the reccomended server settings, deleted live essentials and reinstalled them.

Anyone have any other ideas?

I just moved my Windows 7 installation from a hard drive to an SSD.   The whole drive was imaged by Acronis True Image 2014 and transferred flawlessly (except for some boot sector problems.)   Everything seems to work fine now except my email.   When I start Windows Live Mail 2012 I get a dialog box that says this:

"Windows Live Mail could not be started.  Closing Windows Live Mail.   Your calendar contains corrupt data that is forcing Windows Live Mail to close.   (0x8E5E0247)"

So far I have tried:

  • Windows Essentials Repair from the "Programs and Features" menu
  • Uninstall/Reinstall of Windows Live Mail (Windows Essentials 2012)
  • Deleting the "Calendars"  directory from Users{username}AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live Mail

I have over ten years of emails in this silly program.   I would hate to lose them (they are backed up, but without Windows Live Mail they're pretty useless).

Does anybody know what "corrupt data" I have to delete to get this program running again?  I don't even use the flipping calendar, so I don't know what it's complaining about.   Windows Live Mail appears to produce some kind of log when it pukes, here is the most recent startup attempt:

In windows live mail in windows 8.1 the top part of the cell which has the email listed is cut off, so the first line which has the subject of the email in it, the top part of the letter is cut off.

Same problem in excel, i open a file, and all the cells or part of the cells in excel are like that, there i can fix it by selecting all the rows and double clicking in between 2 rows and they all get fixed, but its super annoying to do that very often. strange thing is here, sometimes it happens, but sometimes it doesnt! this is with office 365.

for windows live mail i cant seem to have a quick fix.

Someone else probably had this problem before.. any ideas how to fix this permanently?

if my explanation wasn't clear, this is what it looks like!!
