Now and then some mails are completely mutilated. Alle letters, numbers and spaces are then replaced by "&#0" non-stop all over the page. Virus protection is up to date with Norton 360.  I saw a long draft mail being converted in the moment I should open it. Help is urgently required and I thank in advance.

Briefly the problem is this. Whereas in Outlook for example, we create GROUPs which is basically a list of addresses, so that we can just specify a group name in an outgoing mail and Outlook will expand it into a list of receiving email addresses. In Windows Live Mail, the feature disappeared, replaced by a thing called "Category" which is similar.

There is a bug with Category feature in Windows Live Mail. Frequently Windows Live Mail fails to expand a category properly, resulting in a number of situations ranging from empty list - no email addresses - one or some of the address on the list. When errors are spotted, I would exit and then turn on Windows Live Mail again. Eventually it will work properly, but even then, it - category expansion - may work perfectly only for most but not all categories.
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the interval time to check email in Windows Essentials live mail in Windows 8.1?
Some time last week I discovered my spell checker was no longer functioning and the option was grayed out.  After going through the options a couple of times I realized that English was no longer showing as the default language. Nothing was showing as the default language so when I tried to set English as the default Live Mail froze and all I could do was close the program. This happened several times so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Essentials with no success.  The spell check function works fine in Word and English is the default in langselector so I am completely stumped. What's even more bizarre is that  this is happening on both of my Windows 7 machines.  Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I've currently got Windows Live Mail 2009 on my laptop but I want to install Live Movie Maker.

It looks as though I have to install the whole of Windows Live Essentials 2012 even if I just want Movie Maker.

If I download Essentials 2012, will that wipe out the emails I currently have in my Live Mail inbox?

Currently using Windows 7 Home Premium.

Many thanks!

I am using Windows Live Mail v2009

I have a number of email accounts set up in it.

I can use mail rules to divert all incoming emails to a common inbox.

Is there any way that outgoing emails from all the accounts can be sent to a common "Sent" folder instead of "Sent" in the individual email accounts?

when i move a message to drafts, there is a long lag of up to 30 seconds before the message will move. but this used to be instant until a couple of months ago.

I start up WLM and it downloads my messages okay. If I try to reply or start a new message it locks up and I have to to to Task Manager to shut down the program. To get it to work I have to, open a new message, click on "TO" and then cancel the message. After a few seconds I  get the box: "Windows Live Mail has stopped working" then, "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly..." So, I then click on "Close Program" The program DOES NOT CLOSE, but then works fine!

STUMPED!!!

I seem to have a problem that is the opposite of what every one else has.

Live sent and received email even though I (believe I) have it disabled.

I unchecked the "Send and receive messages at startup"
and unchecked "Check for messages every...".
and unchecked "Send messages immediately"

I created a test email and clicked "send".  I got a message that it would be held in the Outbox until email was checked.

I noticed a few hours later that the outbox was empty and the email went to the recipient.  Also, a few accounts that had empty inboxes now had emails.

I am just in the process of phasing out my XP computer running Outlook Express and phasing in a new Win 8.1 computer.

I really can't tolerate things like this happening until I am ready.

Is there something else I can do other then "Work offline"?

Am I missing something?

Thanks In Advance.
