I had to try to reinstall it due to an error where it would not except my password and I was unable to get to my contacts.
I tried the standard ways that were suggested removing the files from program (x68) and everything else but no use cant get it installed.
I am running windows 7, 64 bit
Any suggestions????
i have set up an account with microsoft with my email address and password
i have then set up this email address in windows live mail
now i want to add another email address....do i have to give it its own password?
it is not working ...help please!!!!
Several Days ago I had a copy of WLM added to my Win7 x64bit machine by the local tech. Everything installed perfectly and I have 2 accounts, 1 is a POP3 with my local ISP and the other is an IMAP with Gmail. Since I started to receive my emails the POP3 account is OK, nothing wrong but, with the Gmail IMAP acct I get 2 copies of every email downloading. I have searched thru the settings and options within WLM and GMail but cannot find anything to cause the problem. I also tried asking the GMail forum as to an answer but received no replies. The only change that i did to my machine after the WLM installation was to set up the Quickviews Directories, nothing apart from that has been done to the original WLM program. I hope someone can help me.

WLM won't close when using the "X" at the extreme right upper corner (the normal close). Neither will the WLM screen minimize. The screen remains just as it was after you have finished reading/sending mail. Windows Task Manager shows that WLM is NOT running -- even though the screen remains up. Clicking on various parts of the WLM screen result in blue highlights of various functions, but nothing else seems to happen.
Starting another application from the taskbar (such as Firefox) results in normal operation. The WLM screen disappears, and the new application screen appears. In other words, everything works fine except that you must close the WLM screen manually. It seems as though the screen simply doesn't refresh on closing. This isn't a world-shaking issue, but it is a bit of a nuisance.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional with the Classic Shell, and have no other problems with WLM.
One of my accounts in Windows Live Mail is not downloading all of my email. My Windows Live and Gmail accounts seem to be working properly. However I have a POP account that is not. Here is what is happening.
When I get a new email message from that not working account I see the bold (1) in brackets beside the inbox indicator but the message itself does not appear. When I go to the POP webmail account I can read the message. It is there. I have subsequently marked all of my messages as "unread" and I get 45 unread messages. This corresponds to the number when I use Webmail to access my POP account. The messages that are not downloading do not correspond to any specific time period. They are random dates, although since Feb 28 no new messages have been downloaded.
I have used the uninstall tool on the control panel to repair Windows Essentials and I have also removed and re-added the account in question that is not working properly. Still the problem persists.
What is the problem and how can it be repaired?
Thanks
