Hello all,

I created a mailto: shortcut for WLM 2012 on the desktop side of Win 8.1. The problem is when I click on the shortcut it opens IE & that asks me Do you want to allow this website to open an app on your computer. If you click Allow it opens the Metro UI Outlook app.

It always opened the new email window for WLM 2012 until I refreshed my laptop & copied my shortcut icons back to my desktop after I ran the recovery. Anyone have any suggestions on how to have the shortcut associate with WLM again?

I tried using "C:Program FilesWindows LiveMailwlmail.exe" mailto: but that just opens WLM.

Thanks in advance,

eric

I keep getting the following message whenever I try to forward mail: "Message contains bare LF and is in violation of 822.bis section 2.3.  I called and talked to a technical rep and was told, basically, that I would have to pay to correct or just live with the problem.  This started to happen with ver 8.1.  I have down loaded essentials over and over again, and it doesn't correct the problem.  I need an answer.

Thank you

How can I make only the panel that the mouse is over scroll when using the mouse wheel?

Example: Mouse is over reading panel. Scroll to bottom of current email and then the side panel "accounts" will scroll.

This must end. It's madness.

Only the panel that the mouse is over should scroll.

Thank You.

I recently started to get an error message after my computer startup indicating that there was a problem with the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant.

Error Message:

There was a problem that caused parts of the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant to be disabled. You might not be able to sign in to Windows Live in some programs. The problem may have been caused by a program that was recently installed. For more information, please go to:http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=144689

There was a go to address in the error message which simply took me to my Live Mail (i.e. not much help there). I then started searching the web for comments and solutions for this problem. The solution that was recommended here was to uninstall Essentials and then re-install. I followed the uninstall instructions and then downloaded a new version of Windows Essentials 2012. The new install did not succeed. I have tried many things but the bottom line is that Windows Essentials does not install. I have 3 or 4 email accounts under Windows Live Mail some of which I can not access now. I really need some in-depth help on how to re-install Windows Essentials and what the reason is that it currently does not install
