I initially had no problems using Hotmail in Windows Live Mail. However one day last week I changed my password and suddenly I cannot log into my Windows Live Mail on my laptop, as well as the Android mail client on my phone.

I thought it was a password problem as they keep prompting me for my password, and even though I keyed it in many many many times, they still prompt me for it. It is not a password error. I can log in on outlook online, but just not a separate mail client.

I tried changing the mail servers, but all cannot work.

I have tried in Outlook, Opera etc and ALL face this problem. 

It is not as convenient to use it on the outlook website/app. 

Please help!

I have been using WLM for several years with two Gmail accounts, but for the past few months if refuses to receive both accounts at start up. One will receive, the other gets the dreaded 0x800CCC0f error.  I then click receive on that account and it receives normally.  It varies which account fails, either works just fine if clicked on individually.  I am using POP3, Windows 7.

It worked just fine for years, now I can find no way to make it work right.  Both accounts work, but it is a real pain to have to click on receive again for the account that failes every time I start WLM.

I would really appreciate any help to get this resolved!

Tonight I deleted an internet related program.

After restarting my PC, two email accounts were gone. Windows Live mail is still there but with no accounts.

In the User/Elaine/Local/Microsoft/ Windows Live Mail folder there is a dated folder which includes edb files and a very large Mailmessage storage folder.

This is windows 8.1 so there is no "right click" "restore previous versions".

It is a Pop3 type account. How can I restore my email account?

Original Title: Windows Live Mail duplicate contacts

We had about 750 contacts in WLM and then one day they suddenly duplicated to over 1400 contacts. I had to delete them one at a time and in so doing deleted some of the category entries even though there was one contact name left. I had to repopulate the categories.

Why would this happen? Is there any way of deleting the duplicates other than manually? Is there any way of backing up the category files (I now have a printed copy)?

I set up a new Windows Live Mail account yesterday and successfully included gmail.com and outlook.com email addresses, but the two orange email addresses I have tried to include (fsnet.co.uk and orangehome.co.uk) repeatedly generate Server Error 0x800CCC90. I have checked the passwords are correct by logging on to Orange (EE) webmail and I have checked that the POP and SMTP settings are as advised by EE on the website. I have tried both port 25 and port 587 (with authentication) for outgoing mail. I have removed and then re-added both email addresses several times, all to no avail. Every attempt generates the same error message. Please can you help?
I have not changed anything in windows live mail but over the last week or so when I delete an email it does not go into my deleted box but disappears completely, thus I cannot reinstate an email if required.    I have accidentally deleted an email today and again it is not in the deleted box but has gone completely.   I would be grateful if you could advise.
