hope you can help.

I got windows 8.1 and windows live mail.

what I've always done is to get my emails transferred from the main bband server, into windows live mail where I store them in certain folders I create - for example a folder called friends, and a second folder called bills, etc etc.

about 3 wks ago my pc went corrupt because unbeknown to me my free downloaded anti virus conflicted with the built in 8.1 one.

I then saved x things on the external hard drive, then reset the whole pc from factory settings all over again, and didn't reinstall the free downloaded anti virus.

Then put saved things back on the pc from the ext hard drive including emails I'd saved from windows live mail.

What then happened was all new emails then received, the body text changed into the body text of a previous email. Weird.

So I then painfully had to create new named folders and put newly received emails in these, then get rid of the previous folders where the body text kept changing.

All bar one folder, because I thought everything would be ok.

But now, whats happened is one of these folders in windows live mail which contained about 30 emails dated from 2013 to date, have all completely disappeared.  That folder isn't listed anymore in the storage folders section.

I've searched the pc, I've clicked on all black triangles and other symbols in every folder in every part of windows live mail but all gone.

The pc's main search found older emails that I remember not wanting to keep, but the pc's search did not find the 2013-2015 emails from that specific folder at all.

very upset, these emails are so important and now they seem to have gone forever.

what is going on, why did this happen?

where is the folder with all the emails?

why did it disappear like that?

how can I get them back?

most importantly, how can I stop windows live mail making my folders containing emails from disappearing again?

thanks for any advice you can give, I did try phoning windows, the shop, the bband server people, but all led me to this chat community place.

cheers

Recently when opening my Windows Live Mail  I have been getting a window requesting to enter my user name and password even though my Windows live Mail is already open.  However thinking that it was a legitimate request I entered both user and passwords only to be rejected as not correct.  I then tried entering an older password only as my user name has never change and yet again it was rejected.  As my windows live mail was open I carried on using and ignored and deleted the request window and everything worked ok.  This still happens every time I open my e-mail and more recently I have been receiving "Mail Delivery Failure " notifications regarding e-mails that I have not sent and when I look into the details they are e-mails that have been sent to old contact addresses

that have not been in use for a very, very long time possibly since the days of an older computer which when I replaced I destroyed  the Hard Drive completely before disposal.    can anyone help with a possible solution to this annoyance or should I uninstall Windows Live Mail to try to clear and then re-install.

Hi,

I recently downloaded Microsoft Security essentials. When i try to use Windows live mail I keep getting a popup box telling me to enter my password. The popup box already has the password and it's the correct one. Call Verizon, they delete the account start all over and still getting the incorrect password message. Here is the message.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Verizon (bobbywinchel22) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90

Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed

Server: 'pop.verizon.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92

Protocol: POP3

Port: 995

Secure(SSL): Yes

I am in the last few days unable to send any mail to outlook or hotmail from my windows live mail 2012. I am receiving mail and seem to be able to send to other private email addresses OK.  I am in Australia currently 9.52am WST

What is going on and can I rectify?

Thanks

My Windows mail box has lost my inbox, sent, trash etc, all I can see are storage folders and can't read any new emails. Where did they go? How do I get them back? Ive closed and reopened Mail.

The hits keep on coming.

Now my system has stalled trying to send something which I created when I was in, of course, since that is where it all lands, the Null folder inbox.  It made it from "null" rather than from me.  (I have several accounts I monitor, and rather than have to go to each, I set up a "null mail" account, and a message rule that each account would send a copy to what I labeled "All Inbox" - which is where I read my mail unless one of my mirror folk need me to go look at their mail to help.)

So, it stalled, and I couldn't get it to go away.

I changed the letter source to me, and asked it to send.  The outbox showed that it was from me, from my account (previously from null, in the null account).  However, nothing changed in the detail page of what was happening.  This is what it looked like, both before and after my 'from' line change:

So, I closed WLMail, and reopened.  The above is what came up.  Still.  But no main page.  So I can't get to the outbox or any other part of WLM.

I cannot get rid of this, nor dump the outbox, or anything else.  It won't fail on me, and continue with an "x" next to it.

So, now the entire program is unavailable to me, when I've ALMOST got it sorted out.

How do I remove that problem without having to reinvent the wheel - and how can I make it not happen again (fail out, to remind me, is fine; stalling like this isn't)?

Thanks.

Im getting this error when sending an email to hotmail.com

Remote server replied: 550 OU-002 (COL004-MC2F21) Unfortunately, messages from 66.45.237.10 weren't sent.

I have joined reporting program a couple of years ago, and my IPs are all green. No hit traps. I didnt receive any notification.

Just emails won't go thru.

The link to the hotmail contact form is not working anymore. Can anyone please help?

Whereas in Outlook for example, we create GROUPs which is basically a list of addresses, so that we can just specify a group name in an outgoing mail and Outlook will expand it into a list of receiving email addresses.  In Windows Live Mail, the feature disappeared, replaced by a thing called “Category” which is similar.

There is a bug with Category feature in Windows Live Mail.  Frequently Windows Live Mail fails to expand a category properly, resulting in a number of situations ranging from empty list - no email addresses – one or some of the address on the list.   When errors are spotted, I would exit and then turn on Windows Live Mail again.  Eventually it will work properly, but even then, it – category expansion - may work perfectly only for most but not all categories.

From this morning, my mail server(IP:133.242.83.178) cannot send/receive from Hotmail.

And the error message is

-------------------------------------------------

    550 OU-002

Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network
is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to
    FROM command)

-------------------------------------------------

that's not make any sense, because my server IP is even not 103.29.74.115.

Could anybody tell my how can I solve this ploblems?

Sorry for my poor English.
