This morning I was in Live Mail for the second or third time today.  The first two times everything worked fine.  I replied to emails with no problem.  The next time, I was in the middle of typing a reply when my screen went black.  I restarted my laptop, logged back into Live Mail, and found that I had no Inbox, Sent, Junk, Draft, and Deleted box under Quick view.  My "Unread email" folder under Quick view is not being updated.  I know this because when I select "Get help with Mail" I get sent to Outlook.com and find that everything I am missing is there including fresh email.  I was able to send an email to my own address from Outlook and it appeared in my new(?) Outlook inbox but not in Live Mail.  My contacts still exist on Live Mail and are also on Outlook.

I did a quick scan with my antivirus software (Kaspersky) and turned up nothing.

I have no idea what happened.

Did someone wave the magic wand at Windows headquarters and transport me to the land of Outlook?

One day I received an email which was bulk message promoting some online employment position.

What hit me was the fact that From field displayed my present email address.

The message properties and the message source also indicated that email was sent from my account.

How is that possible?

My email account is not compromised.

I have 2 Hotmail accounts in Windows Live Mail and I am getting one holiday entry from each account so I get double entries for each holiday.  is there anything I can do about it so I have only 1 entry for each holiday?

For the past 3 days I am unable to sync messages on my PC using Windows Live Mail, I keep getting the error message;

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (*********) account.

Greetings!

My Windows 7 corrupted and needed to be reinstalled.

I use Windows Live Mail 2012 and had a number of email folders that would also retrieve and store email from some of my POP3 webservers.

I did not specifically back-up those folders however I use Carbonite as a back-up service.

The technicians backed up the drive as well.

However, on reopening Windows Live Mail 2012, I can see all my contacts and Windows Live Mail folder but not the other sub-folders and the emails saved in them.

Where would I find those folders on the backup disk and how should I reconnect them to my Windows Live Mail?

Many thanks!

G

Is there anywhere that the Essentials 2009 version can still be downloaded?

On http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/essentials-install-offline-faq, the 2009 English link is no longer active.

I hate the 2011 and 2012 interfaces, so won't be using those, but would love to get 2009 back.

my problem is exactly the same as the one above, but I am not great on the PC and do not understand some of the terminology. How do I go to Windows Live Mail (WLM?)

please?

thanks
