Question about Outlook Express

I am having similar problems in as much as some folders are not always being displayed in WLM

However I can see the actual folders exist in the wlm database store area and I can click on them there to view the emails but at the moment there are at least 3 folders (and associated emails) that are missing from the Folder list within the wlm application (sorry spotted lots more - see PS2 below)

This has happened to me several times recently usually to the same folders. I got it working yesterday OK again but not sure what I did to achieve it - I tried rebooting several times and opening emails direct from the database but this isnt working today

Please help - I have seen your suggested help to John Ozuk but I'm nervous about temporarily removing my account just in case I lose these important emails - I suppose I could make a copy of wlm database just in case

Like John Ozuk I never had these problems with Outlook Express - is it possible to import the wlm emails direct from the database to say Outlook. I can see there are export featuires in the actual wlm application but thats no ggod to me because its not showing all the folders located in thye database

Please help as this is extremely frustrating - surely there are lots of other people experiencing the same problems

PS1 I moved to wlm when I installed a new PC in Dec 2013 running win 7 and imported emails from OE

PS2 Just tried to check when I bought PC and spotted more folders that are in the database and not viewable via wlm

Cannot send or receive live mail. Have tried reloading but this does not fix the problem.  Looking the this forum it appears that I need assistance.  I followed a suggestion and zipped my error system info. file.

what do I do next.  The thread indicated that I would need a moderator's help.

My mother bought a new computer (running Windows 7 Professional) and her two email clients both import and are read and write

accessible from a "master" Windows Live Mail window.

Every once in a while, she will be typing an email and it will simply disappear, causing her to retype the entire thing. I think it has

something to do with accidentally hitting a hotkey. But...that's a different question.

To preface my real question:

I use Hotmail in which is incorporated a feature which automatically backs up an email in progress, at short intervals, and places said email

into a "Drafts" folder. This way, if an email ever "disappears"  prior to being sent,  I can merely login to "Drafts" and most of what I had been

composing typing remains accessible.

Here is the question:

I can't find a link to a similar function on my mother's Windows 7 Professional Live Mail. Does one exist? If so, is there a setup sequence

I can access in order to enable the appearance of a "Saved Drafts" option on the Live Mail email window?

I am running Windows 8.1. with Windows Live Mail as my email client.  I am unable to understand why now it takes WLM ages to start up.  Before it used to startup in less than half a minute.  Now from the time that I click the icon on my desktop, almost 10 minutes elapses before it starts up. 

Is it probable that the latest Windows updates (which I had just downloaded) could be the culprit as previously, on two occasions, after downloading Windows updates, I had similar problems (the machine would not even boot) and I was advised to Refresh but that deleted all my email messages in both the POP and Imap accounts.  In consequence, I had to re-create all my accounts afresh but when I connected to the internet and downloaded the messages, only message headers were recovered when imported but not the tax.  I therefore do not wish to Refresh yet again.

What could be the problem?  If the only solution is to Refresh once more, how do I backup all the messages in the respective folders of all the accounts (I have two POP accounts and three Imac accounts) and then, after a Refresh and re-creating all the accounts yet again, how do I restore the messages in the respective folders? 

I have even run a scan with Malwarebuytes Antivirus as well as with Windows Defender but the results were negative.  No threats were detected.  What then could be the problem?

Windows live Mail won't load, the following error being received. "Windows Live Mail could not be started. Closing Windows Live Mail. Your calendar contains corrupt data that is forcing Windows Live Mail to close. (0x80070057)" I am running Windows 8.1 and do not use a calendar on the PC containg Windows Live Mail. My only calendar use is on my Windows phone.

I have tried uninstalling Windows Essentials, re-booting and then re-installing Windows Essentials but tis has made no difference. What can I do to overcome this error.

I hope somebody can help me I have emails from 2 different persons that I email regularly.  If they reply or email me new messages their emails go to my inbox.  BUT as soon as I click on the message to open it, it disappears ....... then after a while it appears in my spam box.  There I can open and read it. When I delete it the message goes to my trash.  I can not delete it permanently from my trash.  What adjustments can I do to my email settings for these 2 contacts that the messages does not go to my spam when I open it, and be able to delete the message permanent from my trash when I choose?  It occurs only with these 2 contacts the last 8 months.  I never had this problem with it before.  They did not change their email addresses.

Hello there, 

I am trying to add my Facebook Notification feed in WLM. It was something I have been doing for the past year but since I have formatted, I cannot add the feed back again. I get an error saying that it is not a valid feed. I can add the feed to any other RSS client that I try it with, so the feed is valid. I don't feel comfortable posting my Facebook feed here, so if you could kindly point me in the direction of where I can get assistance in private, that would be great. 

I am using Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)

I recently tried to access one of my Hotmail accounts but was asked to confirm my ID. I did this but never received a new access code. I believe the account recovery email address must be incorrect (mistyped) so now I have a chicken/egg situation where I cannot access my security info and change my recovery email address without an access code and I can receive an access code without changing the recovery email address.

Anybody got any ideas on how to resolve this??
