I recently installed microsoft account on my samsung. I send up the double security feature. I can log into my live.ca account from any where except my my windows live email. I get the error - Unable to send or receive messages for the Live (XXXXXXX) account. The sign-in name you entered doesn't exist, or your password is incorrect.  Server Error: 0x80048821 Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8004882. My wife account still works, and my ISP 's imap still works but I can longer access live.ca  email account within windows live ver 2009.
I have been trying for 3 days now and I cannot receive email on my windows live 2012. Plus it will not let me sign in. I have tried everything I can think of from deleting and uninstalling it. I have windows 8 64 bit on a Toshiba laptop that is only 4 months old. I am using Verizon fios. Any ideas what I can do?

I have been trying to allow my child to use a new website on Windows Family Safety.  I have been able to log into my Family Safety (hotmail) account online successfully), but when the pop-up for Family Safety comes up on my screen, it tells me that the ID or password is incorrect. Neither is incorrect.  I have tried uninstalling Family Safety from one of the computers and reinstalling to see if that would help, but it has not helped.  I have tried removing the child's account from a specific PC and resetting the settings on the computer that way, but it also did not work.  It's almost like the pop-up window is no longer linked to the website's password information.  Family Safety website will allow me to change permissions, but it will not let the individual computers login to the site to make changes to what the child is allowed to see.  Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I had Family safety set up on multiple computers (all Windows 8.1) for my kids. However, recently I got a message that I need to link them to device once again.

Here is the problem. I invited my kids to my "Family", they accepted invitation, and now their Live Account appear in the list of my Family Safety accounts. However, the message says "No device to show yet".

I went to the accounts on my computers, reset their accounts as "Child accounts". And they always login with Microsoft Live account, not local computer account. However, when I went to Family Safety web site, their activity is reported under "Local Account" per each device.

This is extremely inconvenient. I used to have all those accounts linked together, set the together, monitor them together. Now I don't see how it can be done.

What am I doing wrong?

Note: Didn't fine "Family safety" in product lookup anywhere. Have to post it under something else.

I think I'm the first one to report this issue in 2015!!!

I began to have this problem since last tuesday:

Server Error: 4201

Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE0000

  • Check Date and Time Settings on the computer : DONE!
  • SSL security DLL libraries may not be properly registered: DONE! (Although I couldn't find the initpki.dll)
  • Delete and add my account: DONE!
  • Repair Windows Live Essentials: DONE!

I have Windows Live Mail 2012 (16.4.3528.0331)

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits with SP1

Can someone offer some help to solve this problem?

Hello, I'm having this problem too. Message simply says delivery failed--there's no interpretable explanation in the body of the message such as "no such address," and it's reporting failures on emails to various friends w/ various addresses (gmail.com, earthlink.net, etc) to whom I'm successfully sending OTHER emails before and after the failures! I'm using a Hotmail account, by the way. Please send me one of those Private Messages and I'll copy & paste all the coding under "View Message Source"!  Thank you in advance.

I recently shifted my email provider to Gmail (using IMAP) in Windows Live Mail and have had some trouble with the column views in the folders.

No matter what I do, the Inbox and Sent folders always show the same columns.

So, when looking in the Sent folder, I see my own address listed in "From" but cannot see who I sent the message to. If I change the columns in the Sent folder to show the "To" column and not show the "From" column, it changes the "Inbox" folder to do the same making it so I can't see who the messages in my Inbox are from.

When I was with my previous provider, I used POP3 instead of IMAP, and was able to give my Inbox and Sent folders different columns. Is this a known issue with Gmail?

Is there an easy way to fix this?
