I Am looking for a safe, freebee, download of  Windows Live Mail that is compatible with Windows XP & Service Pak7.  Please note the following:

1) I tried the following link http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mail?os=other and in turn, selected > "other download options" >

Windows Live Essentials 2009 > English > browsed to folder to download file wlsetup-web_exe to and got an error message that wlsetup-web_exe couldn't be

    downloaded.

2) I Googled Windows Live Mail for Windows XP and got a link from filehippo, http://filehippo.com/download_windows_live_mail/8305/

I was able to download it but it would not run/install on my XP machine.

I have Windows 7.  My livemail application cannot download e-mails or send - I get:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (r_shotton) account.
Server Error: 0x80191002
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80191002

This problem has happened in the past but fixed itself.  I have had it for a month now - the problem is not to do with my router - I also get it when I travel, in hotels etc.  I can access my account by logging in through the web but there is no connection to me PC's application.  Turning off firewalls does not help.

Help please - I do not want to change my account.

Help help help please

Dear all,

There are 99GB of data, 149,517 emails being held in 4325 folders. They all are put under the storage folder.

Question 1.

I read the old posts related to the maximum capacity of the Windows Live Mail and found that there is no maximum limit to the eml files. However, what about the number of folders. Is there maximum limit to the number of folders?

Question 2.

I also found that if the name of your email folder is longer than 10 characters, e.g. "This is my email folder", in physical location, the name of folder will be changed to, e.g. "This is my 134". It must have a mapping from "This is my email folder" to "This is my 134". Would this mapping have maximum capacity and finally it imposes a maximum limit to the number of folders?

Regards,

Ken

I have seen this question asked although can't find an answer.

I have a new laptop, Windows 8.1 using Windows Live Mail with my cox.net email account.

Can someone please tell me step by step how to keep all my old emails from coming back after deleting them? Thx.

I use Windows live mail and send mail with pictures inserted into the body of the mail because this person can not get attachments at work.  When I do it usually takes my pictures and turns them sideways.  I can not click on it to change or rotate it so I am stuck sending pics that he has to lay his head on his shoulder to see them.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Windows 7 - a Dell alienware desktop.

When I auto-forward email using WLM, the header that normally appears when manually forwarding mail (i.e., that tells the new recipient who sent the original email) is missing. This makes it impossible for the recipient know who sent the original.

Surely there is a way around this. I want auto-forwarded mail to look exactly like it does when forwarded manually.

Help!

Hi,

After working problem-free for a couple of years it seems asif WLM has decided to start looking in the wrong place for my contacts.

If I look in c:usersmyusername I can see my contacts folder with 1430 items in it.

But, if I open live mail and loo at contacts  I see two names - people to whose emails I've replied to in the last day; and, of course, if I want to send an email the autocomplete recipient only 'knows' those two names.

It's as if WLM has decided to change the location of my contact folder - but I can't find out 1) where it should be pointing, 2) how to change it to point at my contact folder in c:usersmyusername and 3) whether this is the correct way to go about things.

Can anyone help please?

Best wishes
