Original Title: WLM and Windows 10

Will Windows Live Mail 2011 function within Windows 10?

Importantly all settings should be retained when installing the free upgrade from Windows 7?

I use WLM for 3 mail addresses which includes one POP3.

Thanks

Ron

Top right of screen when I try to right message stops me doing so.  The pop Up/ Pop down is about Unicode, I cannot remove it, how can I get back to sending eMails  ??

Using Windows 8.1 and Windows Mail Live,  I can't find where to put my basic parameters like the text font and size I want my mail in and other very basic things that used to be under Accounts and Options, I think. Can someone please tell me how/where?

Thank you in advance.

OT: Email Error.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Sid (Live) account.

Server Error: 4201
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

I only have one of my email accounts doing this the rest are fine.

Help

In windows live mail I had several pictures emailed to me, the emails just say view slide show - does not show a file

name for each picture.

I am looking for a way to copy/move these pictures to a document folder to be accessed by my photo

software for editing and printing.  The pics are of my two granddaughters getting awards, at school, and

are somewhat important to me.

Anything would be appreciated

Thanks

Mike

The Danish characters  are not printed correctly if the mail does contain smileys.

When is that problem being fixed?

Character set protocol is UTF8.

Examples:

  • nÃ¥r should be "når"
  • lørdag should be "lørdag"
  • lære should be "lære"

I thought I understood Microsoft Windows Live but it seems I really don't!!!  I currently use Windows Live Mail to see a number of my email accounts, such as Yahoo and Vodafone.  I had thought that when I hit send/receive, the email that I saw in Windows Live Mail was downloaded to my PC but it seems that this is not the case.  I recently had a problem with PlusNet (who took over Vodafone at Home some years back) and without my permission they deleted all 4 of my Vodafone email addresses (1 primary and 3 secondary accounts).  I said I wasn't happy about this as all these emails were still currently in use but they said they could only resurrect the primary account.  After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, I had no choice but to accept that I was never going to get my secondary emails back.  I didn't think it would be a major problem as I had all the historical emails on my PC (or so I thought) so I just needed to write to people to let them know that these email addresses no longer worked.  Unfortunately when I removed the email accounts from Windows Live Mail (because I didn't want to keep getting the error messages coming up after I had hit send/receive), it also removed all the historical emails that I thought were stored on my PC, hence my confusion!!

What I am looking to understand is, if the email was never on my PC, where was it?  Was I only ever seeing a version of what was stored on the Vodafone server or is there still some chance I could locate the historical emails within Microsoft somewhere?

I really hope my explanation makes sense to someone as I would really like to understand how this product works as it's probably not really giving me what I thought it was!
