Hi :

Within the Storage Folders, I used to able to sort by To for any personal folders.  This option is missing after my hard drive problem with fresh installation of Windows Live Mail 2012.  Would you mind helping me how I can get this option back?  I usually grouped by year with both Sent and Received mail items.  I appreciate your help.

Peter

[Original title: Help me use my Live Mail......please.]

* Original Title: Unknown Sender

I run Windows 7 and IE 11.  I use Windows Live Mail 2012 to collect my email from outlook.com and which has a hotmail.co.uk address.  When all mail to this address appears in Windows Live Mail it has a yellow banner at the top stating Unknown Sender.  My outlook/hotmail address is included in WLM's Safe Senders list.

Have seen several posts about issues similar to this but no definitive solution as to how to prevent the Unknown  Sender banner being added when mail is received in WLM.  Any ideas, please.

I should add that Windows Live Mail configured itself to use this mail server for outlook :

https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx

We wanted to transfer personal e-mail folders from Windows LiveMail to Microsoft Outlook (2010).  From WLM, we  entered the following sequence of commands:  File/Export E-mail/e-mail messages.  Then we selected "Microsoft Exchange" which brought up a window which said "This will export messages from WLM to MS Outlook or MS Exchange. OK?"  We clicked OK and selected a small subset of personal folders to transfer as a test.  This subset of personal folders were transferred to Outlook, but all the remaining WLM personal folders are now gone.  We have searched for them in WLM and in Outlook, but they appear to be gone.  Any idea where they've gone and how we can retrieve them?

Many thanks!

I plan on switching to a different internet provider.  I have two email address from my current internet provider.  These two email addresses are on my windows live mail account.

When I switch to the new internet provider, I will lose the two email address I have from my current internet provider.  What will happen to the emails in my inbox, sent, etc. from these two email accounts?  Will I lose them, or will they remain?

Windows 8.1 / Windows Live Mail 2012

Setting up a Windows Live Mail account to sync with Outlook.com using the default auto mechanism does not work properly.

Very recently I hooked up a WLMail 2012 account to Outlook.com using manual IMAP settings. Seems to work fine.

This is what I had done with Windows Live Mail 2011 (on Vista) when I shifted my main mail from another server to Outlook.com a few months ago

In the course of another problem-solving thread it was suggested that it is better to connect via the auto-setup mechanism; the server URL is:

https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx

In the set-up window it is called Windows Live Hotmail, presumably reflecting the situation in 2012 and/or before Outlook.com.

Today I tried this, and I am on my second attempt.  (I have not deleted the IMAP version.)

The initial sync works and, e.g., the Inbox looks the same as in the IMAP version, as it should.  My Archive folder is the same in both.

However...the Sent and Deleted folders are not created. although they exist in Outlook.com.  These are critical as that is where Sent and Deleted items go, whether processed in online Outlook.com or on the desktop in the IMAP version.

I have tried a manually-created Deleted folder in the Deltasync version but it dos not help.  Nor is there the facility to list the IMAP folders.

And yes, the "Save copy of sent messages in the 'Sent items' folder" is ticked in mail options.

In the Deltasync version there are the 'Deleted items' and 'Sent items' folders, but they don't get populated.  In the IMAP version they don't either, in general, though I have noticed that at one stage a very few items appeared in them, possibly because of special circumstances .

Curiosities:

1)

In the IMAP version there are 2 junk folders:

Junk E-mail

Junk

These match Outlook.com and whilst usually the junk goes into the 'Junk' folder, occasionally junk goes into Junk E-mail, maybe when it is junk redirected from my Yahoo account.  Does not matter/does not bother me.

In the Deltasync version the 2 junk folders are:

Junk email (note slightly different rendering of "email" and that there is no equivalent in Outlook.com)

Junk E-mail

I have not had this long enough to notice anything except just now a message arrived in IMAP 'Junk', which appears in Deltasync 'Junk email'.

2)

I cannot delete anything in a Deltasync account folder.

I can, however, drag messages into the 'Deleted items' folder, something that propagates into the IMAP version.

Messages deleted in the IMAP account simply disappear in the Deltasync version.

I have looked at various threads but could not see an obvious solution, e.g.:

I also had some instructions from Feb 2013:

QUOTE

Outlook.com Active Sync Settings
ActiveSync lets you send, receive & synchronize not just your emails, but also your calendar, contacts or tasks. When you add the outlook.com account to
Outlook 2013, on the first screen make sure you select “Manual setup or additional server types”. On the next screen, choose “Outlook.com or Exchange
ActiveSync compatible service” and enter the following Active Sync server settings:

Mail Server: s.outlook.com (if it doesn’t work, also try m.hotmail.com)
Also, mark the box to use TSL/SSL for the server connection.

I tried replacing "mail.services.live.com" with "s.outlook.com".  I did not try "m.hotmail.com".

Weird, or what?

=> Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong when setting up the Deltasync account?  (This is supposed to be the automatic way of connecting.)

Is it worth doing anyway?

When will this stupid microcrap company fix this simple bug that even i could fix and i'm no programmer either. Fix this stupid bug already. How many more of those bug reports you need to fix this damn bug you made and obviously know about?

Is it so **** hard to not put **** underscore everywhere like retarded kid bumping head on sidewalk pavement?

Original title: lost all my emails

dears,

I need to access my lost emails for my account

why everything is not showing up??

Ahmed

This is a temporary account, made it just to be able to post my concern.

I am trying to use my email from a different location (Country A) than where I was a few days ago (Country B), for security reasons, MICROSOFT is requiring me to verify that I am the account owner by sending a code to the phone number I provided. The problem is that I cannot use that phone number at Country A since it is a Country B number and it has no service at Country A. There is no option to verify my account using an alternate email. The only remaining option was to fill out the recovery questionnaire form and wait for MICROSOFT to verify my ownership of the account. I filled it 3 times, they were not able to verify that I am the owner in any of them. This post might be my last hope, please let me know to do to get my account back.

What is really bothering me is that I opened my account at Country A and did not have to verify my ownership of the account when I went to Country B, not sure why this is happening now that I am back to Country A. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Said
