Hey,

I need help with my Windows Live Mail. Whenever I select the icon from my taskbar, it will open up the send/receive box. I can't seem to close it no matter how many times I try. It seems to have frozen on that specific update. I honestly don't know what to do.

Any advice?

Just noticed folders H to M disappeared. Have checked Deleted but nothing. Is it possible to retrieve them ? Elderly lady needs help please  Tech knowledge very limited

I am receiving the following message in my Windows Live Mail. How do I fix it?

Unable to send or receive messages for the pop.bellaliant.net account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR account is currently inactive.
Server: 'pop.bellaliant.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3

Secure(SSL): No

My home Comcast emails just quit two days ago.  I was using POP.  The new Comcast settings are for IMAP.  So I reloaded the Windows Live Mail 2012/ Essentials program and rebooted.  Then removed the accounts and put in new accounts with IMAP.  Now I can receive but no sent emails.  I followed Comcast Sheet of instructions dated May 15, 2015.  IMAP account Incoming IMAP on 993   with outgoing smpt on 587 with SSL checked on both.  Then I have changed port numbers around etc to no avail.  Every time I send a email it, small box,  says to retry there is a problem   and the last error message was different:

Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Configuration:
   Account: Comcast (xxxxxxxxl)
   Server: imap.comcast.net
   User name: xxxxxxxx
   Protocol: IMAP
   Port: 993
   Secure(SSL): 1
   Code: 800ccc0e

Hi 2golfornot2golf,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. We understand that you are having several issues in your Windows Live Mail. In this case, we have some questions we'd like to ask:

  • Have you also tried to access your account via the web based Outlook.com to see if those 2 issue will persist?
  • Have you tried to access other Microsoft account on the same computer in Windows Live Mail just to check if the same issue will arise?

For the meantime, please try to repair your Windows Live Mail by following the steps below:

1. Go to Control Panel.
2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a Program.
3. Locate Windows Essentials 2011 or Windows Essentials 2012, and then click Uninstall/Change.
4. When a window appears, select Repair all Windows programs.
5. Restart your computer after the repair.

Please return back if the issue has been fixed. If not, we will further assist in you resolving the issue.

Thanks!

I get innumerable unwanted solicitations daily via Windows Live Mail and would like this to stop

I have had this disturbing experience with Windows Live Account(s) and ‘Microsoft Configuration Management’

Based on below I can conclude that permissions granted to one Microsoft LIVE account was automatically – and without my specific accept - transferred to another Microsoft Live account in a way that allowed a wrong account to access confidential files on a Microsoft Configuration Management site. This worries me BIG TIMES and I would appreciate some answers.

Facts:

My OS and Microsoft Office 2013 was recently installed and is activated under Microsoft Live Account (1). I also have a Microsoft Live Account (2) which is not identical to account (1)

What happended

  1. A company I am doing consultant work for, has created a Microsoft Configuration Management site to share sensitive documents. They have granted me access using Microsoft Live Account (2). They do not know about Microsoft Live Account (1).

  2. I get an e-mail (Auto-generated by Microsoft Configuration Management) with a link to the web-site from where the confidential files could be accessed.

  3. I logged using my Account(2) credentials. I downloaded a few files and logged off.

  1. Later I login using Account (2) credentials. This time my account is rejected with the message, that ‘another account has already been accepted for access to this site’

  2. I checked the permissions with the company. They reconfirm that access is granted to Account(2)

  3. For some reason I then logged on using Account (1) credential (to which no access is granted!). I was very surprised to experience that I was granted access to the confidential files.

  4. I re-checked with the company. They re-confirmed that only Account (2) was granted access in their end.

  5. However, In order to do my job for the day, I logged on several times using Account (1).

What then happened:

  1. Today my first logon using Account(1) credentials is rejected with the message: ‘You need access rights to enter this site’.

  2. My Account (2) credentials is also rejected but, with the message ‘Another account has already accepted for this site’

  3. My second logon using Account (1) credentials is – BINGO – accepted!  Not only once, but several times? I can open and download documents etc.

I do have some questions:

  1. Why does Microsoft Configuration Management allow an un-authorized account [Account(1)] access to a confidential file share?

  2. If this is by design, why does Microsoft Configuration Management behave inconsistently about it?  (‘You need access to enter’, and then minutes after ‘I am granted access’).

  1. Is it true that Microsoft auto-transfers access rights granted to one Microsoft Live Account to another –without specific approval from me?

hi,

i have multiple different email account in WLM but since a day or 2 my hotmail email says it has no new mail, but actually when i log in through a browser i do have new mails. gmail and other mail servers download their stuff just fine..

the day it happened first after half the day i did get my new emails, but now today again it shows it checked for emails, no errors, and no new emails.. **** is going on..? and no i didnt change any firewall settings or anything else..

As of yesterday, some not-junk mal has been going to the spam folder.  I've tried marking it as not junk and adding sender to safe sender list.  The mail disappears from the spam folder for a second and then reappears.  I can open the mail, but I can not move it to another folder.

Widows Live Mail on Windows 8.1

Related to: Messaging Error Codes

I have got this error when I try to sync my Windows Live Mail application; I have 2 accounts which my primary "Hotmail" is working ok and can sync but not my secondary "Hotmail" acct which I have try on a few different device but still have this error.  The Mail apps in Windows 8.1 is working fine but just not my Live Mail application.

I think I know why but can't do any thing about it

Originally the live mail server was set to periodically go out and check my ISP's pop mail server and deliver them to live mail server so that on my laptop  I could send and receive mail from my ISP when not on my home network. (some mail would be late and some mail I would not receive because it was read and deleted at home before the next microsoft server read cycle)

Subsequently my ISP allowed a set forward command and also to leave mail on its server.  Now I am getting most mail twice,........and I cant undo the original set up. There seems to be nothing I can find that allows these settings to be reversed (or even set up for the first time)

Any help would be appreciated
