... I get the error message that my password is incorrect.

The only clue we have to what's wrong is the error message. Please click on it to select it, then use right-click to copy it and paste it into your reply here.

Hi,

This sounds identical to the problem I am also having. It started June 1st and I have been spending countless hours trying to resolve it. I can send and receive in verizon webmail and the other two accounts I have still work, for some reason with this particular account (my primary account btw) I am suddenly being asked for the user name and password, when entered, I am asked again.

Here is the error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Verizon (steelefm) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed
Server: 'incoming.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

Please help! I already removed the account and added it again (I wish I didn't, I lost everything I had in folders) and that didn't help.

Hi Andre,  I really appreciate your prompt reply.  You have answered my questions.  Now all I have to do is make sure my Windows 7 is working like it should.

I was having a problem with sending email (WLM) I could receive but not send.  I got the 0x800cccof error.  I had my ISP support work on it and they did not get it fixed, so I ran the SFC/Scannow and it found a couple of areas that it could not fix.  I got a message to c:windowslogsCBSCBS.log.  I do not have the log, and or remember how to get it.  I am planning on running the SFC/Scannow again, to see if it repairs it.  Do you have suggestions on this?

Appreciate you!

Hi CARRMASDAD2

Since this issue is Windows Live Mail related, I have moved this issue into the dedicated Windows Mail forum for better support.

I am all of  a sudden unable to send email as well.  Please advise.

The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for '<Unknown>', please contact your email service provider.

So for awhile now my mail app has been acting up, both the inbox and sent. Sometimes it will look like it is refreshing but instead will refresh with mail from 2009. Same thing goes for when I look at the sent folder, it wont show any recent email that I have sent...

Is there something I should do like uninstall and reinstall? Or could it be a possible virus? I haven't had any issues at all with my surface other then this and I have had it for 2 years now.

I appear to be able to do everything in Windows 2012 Live Mail except send emails (new, reply, etc.). I have Windows 8. I have never before experienced this problem. It has been a problem for a few days now. As soon as I try to send an email it freezes and I have to use Task Manager to close the application. Please help. I have about 5 email accounts and I can't send from any of them.

I have tried all the suggestions listed, but they do not work.  To repeat, I accidently deleted a STORAGE folder in Windows Live.  The storage folder says its contents are stored on my hard drive, not in email.

Is there a way to recover this folder.  I tried doing a System Restore, but that didn't work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I attempt to e-mail an article from a website using its e-mail icon, I get the message "unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (my account name) account". My hotmail account operates just fine except when I try to send from a website.

My problem occurs  with WLM 2011 and 2012. It appeared suddenly for no obvious reason. No solution has been found in the swedish forum.

Attached files cannot be opened (or printed). Not by clicking nor using the right click menu. They can however be Saved As. This applies to all file types tested (.docx, .xlsx, .pdf etc). I have NO problems outside of WLM. My operating system is W7 32 bit. I have tried the following: Clean reinstallations of both WLM versions as instructed, resetting of Internetexplorer, cleaning of register contents (with utility) before uninstalling WLM and after. Any suggestions?

Just got the Msg that "Facebook Connect features will no longer be supported. If you’ve connected Facebook to your Microsoft account, your Facebook contacts will stop syncing to Outlook.com or the People app on your Windows devices, and the sharing options to Facebook will stop working as early as June 9th."

Is there anything I need to do with my Win Phone or two Win 8.1 computers because of this? The note was not clear.

Thanks

I am running out of hard drive space on my SSD.  I have discovered that this is partly due to the fact that I have several G of data in my WLM message store.  I have changed this by doing Options -> Mail -> Advanced -> Maintenance -> Store folder and have entered a folder on a larger physical drive.  The messages have moved there fine and WLM works OK.  I have discovered however that my HD usage has not changed - presumably this operation has copied not moved the files.  My questions are:

Is it safe to remove the (presumably unused) message files on my SSD?

Where are these file stored?  I have done a bit of searching on the net and they appear to be in C:Users<my logon name>Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftWindows Live Mail.

Is it safe to remove all of these files??

Thanks in advance.
